Love Story
Mary and Edwin met through a common friend who played matchmaker. Mary was a Dubai-based flight attendant then when her friend told her that she'd like to introduce her to someone. "She even joked that we're compatible because neither of us smokes nor drink, and that we don't have a social life," recalls Mary. After two weeks, Mary then received a text from Edwin, and that sparked a series of conversations online.
When Mary had a scheduled flight to Manila, she met up with Edwin for dinner together with their matchmaker friend and her husband. When Mary went back to Dubai, the two overcame the absence of one another through Skype. "Every month, I would try to get a Manila-bound flight, or go home whenever I have days off. There was [even] a time that I couldn't go home, so he visited me in Dubai instead," Mary shares.
With their constant efforts to be with one another, Mary and Edwin eventually developed a deep romantic relationship, which led them to the altar. One afternoon, Edwin simply went to Mary's house, embraced her, and slipped the ring in her finger while she was asleep. When Mary opened her eyes, she was surprised and delighted to see the ring.

Mary and Edwin celebrated their big day with an autumn-inspired theme. With warm shades of oranges and browns, the couple's July affair exhibited a cozy, sophisticated vibe.
The couple also laced their event with personal touches by doing a handful of DIY projects, which were featured from the ceremony all the way to reception. DIY signages and other décor were just some of the remarkable details that stamped their wedding. The couple's celebration was made even more special with touching surprises and performances. Among the highlights was the groom singing Train's Marry Me as the bride walked towards the altar.
With all the heartwarming details, Mary and Edwin's wedding felt like a dreamy autumn day filled with love. As they planned their big day, Mary learned that it is important to personalize one's wedding. "[I]n that way [couples] would feel that it is really their [own] wedding and not just a celebration. It feels that you really own that day and it feels more special and unforgettable not only to the couples but to the guests as well," Mary asserts.
