Love Story
Krislyn and Bernard met and fell in love at a badminton court. In 2004, the two both joined their company's badminton tournament, and back then, Krislyn and Bernard belonged to opposing teams. While Bernard's team spied on their opponents' moves to figure out a way to beat them, Bernard had his eyes on Krislyn. But then he was caught off-guard when Krislyn suddenly turned to his direction and smiled. Charmed by Krislyn's gesture, Bernard then began to pursue her. The two officially became a couple in 2005.
Six years into the relationship, the couple got engaged. On February 14, Bernard surprised Krislyn at their office with more than just the Valentine requisite bouquet of flowers. After laughing off the teasing of their officemates, Krislyn was surprised to see Bernard down on his knee with a ring in his hand. "He delivered a short message which was all garbled in my mind not knowing what to make of the situation. I just remember him saying, ‘Will you marry me?' and I hugged him in utter acceptance," Krislyn shares.

Krislyn and Bernard celebrated their big day by taking highlighting the element that started everything: badminton. With their shared sport as theme, the couple's wedding exhibited a fun and cheery vibe. The couple also took on a handful of DIY projects to give their wedding a quirky yet warm flair. "Our wedding was simple and casual with [around] 80 guests. Some of them felt so relaxed that they felt they were just queuing in the court instead of the buffet table," the bride shares.
The program at the reception was marked with a moving speech from the groom. The night was also filled with amusing games, which also made the couple's intimate celebration a fun-filled affair. "To top it all, the food--from appetizers to main course to desserts--was luscious," the bride asserts.
With such an intimate wedding, the couple let everyone truly feel the main reason they were all there--love. The couple was also particular with their ceremony details to make their wedding even more special, and Krislyn advises planning couples put much thought in choosing the priest who will wed them. "The couple [should] nominate a priest that they already know or at least [someone they could] get to know to make the wedding more intimate [and meaningful]," she says.
