Love Story
Kelly and Chris met when they were both studying at the Ateneo de Manila University. They became friends in college, but at that time, they were both interested in other people. After college, the two lived provinces apart (Chris was in Legazpi while Kelly stayed in Manila), but oddly enough, the distance helped them grow closer. After years of being friends, Kelly and Chris decided to take their friendship further.
As a couple, the two experienced challenges, but these only made their bond stronger. When they finally decided to tie the knot, they affirmed that nothing could get in the way of their love.

Wedding Preparations
Kelly, having an obsessive compulsive personality, was very hands-on with the wedding by making everything about it more personalized. After visiting the best resorts in Boracay, the couple finally chose Discovery Shores as their venue for the affair. They decided to make the event modern and fun, but at the same time intimate and heartwarming.
The bride busied herself with DIY projects. Kelly went on trips to Divisoria to buy fans to be given during the mass and personally tied a ribbon to each. She also helped design the save-the-dates, the invitations, the souvenirs, and even the candle holders that she perfected through trial and error. She also made the place cards for each table as well as the wine list. Each guest even had his own personalized stationery.
The reception was "probably the best part of the whole affair," says the bride. They did not have a long program nor an emcee, so they assigned friends to take over different parts of the program. The groom's sisters also prepared three songs to sing at the reception. By the end of the night, the affair was reminiscent of a college barkada hang-out as the couple shared tears, good music, laughter and--of course--booze with good company.
In the end, everything about the wedding was theirs, products of very good decisions that Kelly and Chris made on their own. "While it is hard not to give in to special requests, ultimately [you make the] decisions," Kelly says. It took them two years to plan their wedding, but their wait was well worth it.
