Love Story
Katie and Cyrus met at the University of Santo Tomas in 2003. Katie has just entered the university, while Cyrus was on his last year in college and was known as the school's basketball varsity star player. Katie caught Cyrus' eye, but she was adamant on not giving Cyrus a chance since she was cautious of the reputation of basketball players. With this, the two lost contact as Cyrus entered a professional career in the Philippine Basketball Association (PBA).
Six years later, Katie heard from Cyrus again when he added her on Facebook. They then started exchanging private messages through the famous social network. After weeks of correspondence, Cyrus finally asked for Katie's number since they were taking too long to reply to each other's messages in Facebook.
"He [then] tried to ask me out but I didn't reply right away because I was very hesitant to meet him as he is a basketball player. He got scared that he might have offended me, so he said we can go out with friends. [But] I still didn't confirm any date," shares Katie.
And then one day, Cyrus just met up with Katie when he found out that she was just running errands for school that day. After that meeting, Katie realized that all her initial assumptions about him were false. "[H]e is the kindest and most down to earth guy I ever met," Katie gushes. The meeting opened doors for the two, and their relationship eventually led them to the altar.

Katie and Cyrus tied the knot with a chic, posh, and undeniably refreshing nautical Hamptons-themed wedding. The couple initially wanted a beach theme, but they decided that their event should still have an elegant feel. With the help of Vatel Manila's Dylan Gozum, Katie and Cyrus then decided on the unique nautical theme. Their celebration showcased cool and laid-back nautical elements combined with chic and posh accents reminiscent of the upscale Hamptons community in New York.
Aside from featuring awe-inspiring details, the couple's reception also served as the perfect chance for their family and friends to come together, as Katie and Cyrus only invited 150 guests.
The couple complemented the intimate party's laid-back ambiance with an unsual song choice for their first dance: Big Mountain's rendition of Baby I Love Your Way. Katie and Cyrus also gave the traditional garter and bouquet toss a twist by incorporating alcohol into the game and a blind date component into the mechanics.
In the end, Katie and Cyrus's dream wedding became a happy send-off to their happily ever after.
