Love Story
Noel met Kate through his college friends. Noel was still a senior high school student while Kate was a freshman in college. They would constantly hang out with the same group of friends but they didn't exactly hit it off right away. "We'd take pictures with each other not knowing [we'd be a couple] in the future," Noel shares.
Five years later, the two found themselves both at a friend's bar. "We ended up talking to each other the whole night and morning thereafter. I invited her to breakfast the following Monday and everything fell into place. And I had a crush on her since the first time we met," Noel confesses.
On Aug 9, 2010 (08-09-10), Noel invited Kate for a fancy dinner date-and he asked Kate to wear something nice. Kate says, "I felt suspicious that he might propose. I even told two of my close friends about my feeling. My friends told me to stop assuming and just enjoy dinner. Being a hopeless romantic, I was wishing at the back of my head that he'd do it."
After a sumptuous meal at Bistecca in Rockwell, Kate forgot about her hunch and just thought how sweet it was of Noel to plan something like that for her. When they ordered dessert, Kate told Noel of her assumption, and that she even told her friends about it. Noel just laughed and told her that she over-analyzed. Just as Kate texted her friends about the false alarm, Noel extended his hand holding a box with a ring and asked: "What if I tell you that you're not assuming?" She didn't catch the drift at first but noticed that Noel was about to cry. He then opened the box and finally popped the question. Kate was still shocked but had one answer nonetheless-a sweet yes.

Kate and Noel's purple and fuchsia themed affair was a seamless fusion of modern style and classic elegance. While they opted for details that were modern and sleek, the affair still had a touch of timelessness.
To achieve the look they wanted, the couple booked suppliers whose modern aesthetics complemented their vision, such as Metro Photo, One Esplanade, and Jason Soong of Jaguar Philippines. Their reception also featured a DJ who spun songs of "funk, soul, and everything in between," a mobile bar, and a spectacular fireworks display by Dragon Fireworks. During dinner, the Philharmonic Orchestra played classics to balance the party's upbeat mood.
The festivities lasted the whole night as the couple had The Johnnies' Rockeoke, the band's popular stint in which they play live backup music for anyone to sing along to. "The first to sing was the groom--and the band had to extend their [set] as all the guests wanted [their turn] on stage. That night started with fireworks and ended with a bang!" the bride proudly shares.
