After having a one-of-a-kind intimate beach wedding in Boracay, Kai and Cyrus once again walked down the aisle. This time, they took their vows to the altar, and celebrated their union with more relatives and friends. From a hip and carefree 'Bora-hop' wedding, the couple had a second wedding that was marked with sunshine, hats, pearls, and other tea time-appropriate details. "To me, it was a modern and quirky interpretation of a classic and vintage theme," the bride explains. As these beautiful elements came together, the celebration turned out to be chic and cheery affair.
The couple's special day started out with a brunch at Café 1771 five hours before the wedding. Kai and Cyrus' closest friends came to the chic restaurant that exuded French elegance, and they feasted on a hearty brunch with glasses of fine champagne. The troop then passed the time with a pictorial session with J. Lucas Reyes. The portraits from the pre-wedding event also served as souvenirs for the couple's entourage. Parasols, balloons, and fun personalities all came together for the quirky souvenir.
After the brunch, everyone then went to the Our Lady of Pentecost Church for the ceremony, then to the Ayala Hillside Social Hall. The two venues served as perfect backdrops for the wedding's chic and cheery theme as the church was a charming brick structure, while the events hall was situated at a garden--perfect for tea time.

Wedding Preparations
According to Kai, planning for a second was more difficult for her, because she found that there were more requirements for a church wedding compared to a civil one. Aside from securing the necessary documents for the Catholic ceremony, the couple also had to consider the cost of having a second wedding. "We already had the ultimate splurge for our Boracay wedding. Even if that wedding only had 35 guests, it was still expensive. So [on our] second wedding, we already knew we had to prioritize spending on elements that were not part of the first wedding, so we could spend much lower, avoid redundancies, and still add a new spin [to our celebration.] For instance, this time around we focused on getting K by Cunanan, a wonderful cake, and flowers from Dangwa because we did not have a caterer, a cake, and a lot of flowers in the first wedding," shares Kai.
Being able to successfully pull off two weddings that were both distinct, the couple imparts several valuable learnings. The bride shares, "The bridal registry should not be an afterthought. For our first wedding, we did not have a bridal registry. Make sure the [shops where you register] don't lose your list, and make sure they issue you your cards. We didn't take our registry too seriously because we were so busy, so we just chose two stores that were near our place out of convenience. Looking back, I wished we registered in several stores and not just two. This gives your guests more choices based on their own budget, and gives you a lot of back-ups in case some stores do not perform well."
The couple also found the advantage of hiring a good coordinator. "Church weddings are honestly, much more stressful, so you need a good coordinator. Invest and work with a good, if not the best coordinator you can find at all costs," shares the bride. Finally, she says, "Fight for your own ideas, and assert yourself--at the end of the day, it is your wedding. But if at times, if things don't go your way, never lose yourself. Essentially, a wedding is about love, so look to your fiancé as your inspiration to carry on."
Indeed, Kai and Cyrus know how to celebrate in style, wherever their love takes them.
