Love Story
Jenica and Mike first met in December 2006 in Vancouver, Canada. Jenica and her family were there for a vacation, and stayed at a hotel where Mike's family had a gift shop. "It all started when his younger sister saw my youngest brother, and found him cute. Our families have been friends since then and [have] stayed in touch," Jenica shares. The two didn't exactly click right away, but when Mike came to the Philippines for a vacation, he and Jenica began dating, and they officially became a couple. "We've always had a long-distance relationship. Things may be harder since we [weren't] together all the time but, we still did our best to make it work," says Jenica.
And then on 2008, Mike asked for Jenica's hand in marriage. He followed Jenica and her family to Hong Kong during their visit to Victoria Peak. "There wasn't any fancy dinner or proposal, but just the effort he made to go all the way from Vancouver to Hong Kong already made everything special and perfect," Jenica fondly recalls.

Jenica and Mike tied the knot with a chic and cheery cherry blossoms theme. With the help of their friends and loved ones, the couple laced their event with personalized details. Unique DIY details that dotted their wedding gave their September affair a warm vibe. Moreover, special performances from the couple's families made their celebration even more memorable.
The warmth the couple felt during their union proved that it is the couple that should truly be the focus of the wedding. "Sometimes brides get too attached with wedding preps that they forget the main reason why they're doing it. It's always nice to keep in mind that the wedding is about you and your future husband getting married and starting a new life together," Jenica shares. Thus, Jenica adds, "Make the wedding about the two of you and not about what other people think. It'll make it even more special that way."
