Love Story
Cris and Alfie met at the workplace five years ago, when they underwent a management training program for a week. After the training, Alfie went on to pursue Chris. In the process, Alfie got used to touring Manila, as he would drive from the company's Quezon City branch to pick up Cris from their Makati. After doing so, he would then head home to Manila. With such efforts, Alfie eventually won Cris' heart.
Two years into their relationship, Alfie had to leave the Philippinies to work in Singapore. "It was a difficult situation for both of us because it was a long distance relationship with the hassle of not being able to see each other on a regular basis. We would only have the chance to see each other every two to three months, but we were able to make things work by scheduling our mini conference calls thru Skype and Facetime," shares Cris.
Cris and Alfie's relationship proved to stand the test of time and distance, as the two got engaged after four years of going steady. "At Christmas 2009, while eating Noche Buen, Alfie gave me a slice of Mango Bravo. While I was busy eating, I didn't realize that there was something when I sliced the cake. I was so surprised when I saw the ring, and started crying as soon as Alfie picked it up to show me. He said that at least [the proposal] should have a little something [extra] to highlight how special the moment was for us," Cris fondly recalls.

Wedding Preparations
Cris and Alfie exchanges I do's with a cheery yellow and gray-themed motif. Held in the middle of summer, the couple's wedding exuded the fun and fresh vibe of the season through various wedding details. Among those details were the female entourage's yellow and gray dresses, and the décor, which were marked with chic arrangements of fresh blooms.
The participation of Cris and Alfie's loved ones in the preparations and program proper made their wedding even more remarkable. The invites were designed by the bride's sister, while her cousins served as DJs during the reception.
With help from family and friends, Cris and Alfie were able to make their summer celebration special. The couple also attributes their success to their suppliers, whom they booked early in the planning stage. The two advise other couples to do the same, as doing so can help the couple score discounts or better deals.
