Love Story
Ciara and Ryan's paths first crossed as they were schoolmates in highschool--and their love story started with a phone call made back in 1999. It was a Sunday afternoon, and Ryan and his friends were calling on the phone their crushes in school. They didn't expect an answer when they dialed Ciara's number, and so when she picked up, they threw the phone to Ryan in surprise. Caught off guard, Ryan was still able strike up a good conversation with Ciara, and that encounter sparked a long-term relationship.
Twelve years into the relationship, Ryan and Ciara got engaged over a romantic dinner. "I noticed that he was nervous and fidgety and before I knew it, Ryan popped the question. I was shocked, speechless and filled with jumbled emotions, but at the same time [wondering] if he [was] really serious. [Since I wasn't] saying a word, Ryan had to ask me again. [But] when I laid my eyes on that beautiful gift, I knew--and the only word that came out from my mouth was a stunned ‘Yes!,'" shares Ciara.

Ciara and Ryan marked their big day with a romantic Old Hollywood glam-themed affair. To play out the glitzy vintage feel of their chosen concept, the couple peppered their event with pearls, fedoras, feathers, and lace accents. The couple chose a pink and chocolate brown color palette to give their theme a dainty air.
Aside from paying attention to the details, the couple also incorporated unique twists into their wedding program to give their affair a modern kick. Among the highlights was the couple's grand entrance. The couple performed a production number featuring Burlesque's Diamonds are a Girl's Bestfriend, which channeled a festive and glamorous vibe. The couple's 900 guests also enjoyed special fire and belly dancing performances from Zamboanga's Jambangan Group.
With the effort that the couple exerted to make their wedding one-of-a-kind, they stayed true to their advice to planning couples, which is to make one's wedding something personal rather than traditional. "Enjoy planning, and bring out the creative side of each other," she adds.
