Love Story
Cacay and Rain first met at a company orientation. Both of them got promoted, and so they treated themselves to lunch. That encounter led them to get to know each other more, and eventually, they started dating. Almost two years later, they officially became a couple.
Unlike most couples, Cacay and Rain started planning their wedding without a formal proposal or an engagement ring. When they began with the preparations, they already knew that they would exchange vows the following year. While they had shared plans, Cacay had always hinted at Rain that she wanted to be surprised.
One day in February, Rain arranged a romantic date--complete with a panoramic view of the city, a candlelit dinner, and fireworks display--at Stanford Hotel in Singapore. After dinner, just in time for the fireworks display, Rain set up a mini photo session at their room's balcony. Rain fiddled with his camera and told Cacay to constantly change poses as he went in and out of the room--little did Cacay know that Rain already had an engagement ring in his hand. When Rain finally posed beside Cacay, with a click on his remote trigger, he handed her a sparkly solitaire diamond ring.

Wedding Preparations
Since Cacay and Rain were out of the country most of the time, they knew that a travel theme would suit their much-awaited December wedding. Details such as a compass, a mailbox, snail mails, parcels, and paper planes reflected their chosen theme. The travel-inspired elements were the couple's DIY projects. Their ice blue, buttercup yellow, and coral color palette also made their warm, quirky, and refreshing. Balloons, flowers, and other wedding details with the wedding's delicate hues gave their affair an almost ethereal glow.
Cacay and Rain were very hands-on with planning their wedding even though they were abroad. First, they hired a wedding coordinator, who was tasked to oversee the progress of their hired suppliers. The couple also kept worksheets of their wedding planning process, which served as guides and reminders.
Cacay and Rain made sure they were well-researched so they can decided on the look they want to achieve for their wedding. "Take advantage of wedding blogs, wedding forums, and all other wedding related wedsites like BridalBook, Martha Stewart etc. They are good sources of wedding inspiration ideas and suppliers' reviews. Make it a habit to save whatever you've researched (or make a screenshot) so it's easier for you to retrieve the information later on," Cacay suggests. Aside keeping tabs on the progress of suppliers, the couple also realized the value of working together--their DIY projects showed just how much effort was required of them. "Wedding planning is not just for the bride. Share responsibilities with your groom. Get him involved. Get his inputs. After all, it's his big day too!" shares Cacay.
