Love Story
April was on her second year in law school, and boys and dating were the last things on her mind. But every time she offered eggs to the Santa Clara sisters and prayed that she pass the bar exams, she also secretly asked God to send her the man of her dreams. And when she met Jay in September of 2005, April felt that her prayers were answered. Jay was able to consistently surprise her and support her in all her endeavors. So when Jay asked her to be her girlfriend through a special dinner at Manila Peninsula, April had no other answer but yes.
In April 2009, April became a licensed lawyer. And just when she thought that she already got the best gift for her birthday, Jay presented her with a ring and a question she had long waited to be asked.

Wedding Preparations
Charmed by the movie Enchanted, April and Jay went for a modern fairytale theme for their wedding. Aside from having a castle-inspired set-up for the reception, the couple's DIY projects also made their pink and gold affair memorable. One of the special details in the wedding included their candy buffet, where the couple allowed their guests to fill customized Chinese take-out boxes with as much candy as they wanted. A message wall, instead of the usual guestbook, was also another notable wedding detail.
But what really made April and Jay's wedding memorable was the special performances of their loved ones. The groom's brother gave a magic show to the delight of the couple and all their guests. Another highlight was the highly emotional father-daughter dance between the bride and her dad. After their tear-jerking number, the couple presented a slideshow with all their photos through the years, which the couple prepared to show how they were inspired by their parents' marriages. "More than the theme or the styling, what we understand from our guests to be most memorable about our wedding was how much love was shown and felt that day. Many tears were shed, but they were very happy tears," April shares. "Our wedding was truly a family affair."
