Apple and Joel wanted a modern wedding with a French country feel to it. The couple chose a color palette of purple and gold for an elegant touch and opted for choice, personalized items for their reception.

Love Story
Apple and Joel first met at a party in 2001, but they didn’t really talk to one another until they became office mates in 2005. That's when Joel sent Apple an email and invited her to dinner.
At first, Apple was hesitant to go into a serious relationship because she had just gotten out of a relationship, and so she prayed for a sign, asking for the right guy to give her something religious. The next week, Apple's mom was in the hospital and Joel gave her a rosary to comfort her. He stayed persistent even though she turned him down three times, until finally, Apple agreed to be in a relationship with Joel.
On Joel’s 31st birthday, Apple arranged a party for him at a bar in Ortigas. In the middle of the party, Joel brought out a bouquet of flowers and proposed to Apple, who was surprised to find out that all their friends knew about Joel's plan to propose that night.

Wedding Preparations
Apple and Joel both wanted a laid-back wedding tailored to their personalities. They chose Balai Taal for their venue because they wanted to have a backyard feel for the occasion.
Both Apple and Joel wanted their guests to feel relaxed, so they had a casual reception. They achieved a unique, intimate look for their wedding through do-it-yourself projects. Apple helped make postcards for the reception tables and used vintage paper for the guest list background for a classic touch. In keeping with the wedding's carefree vibe, the couple also hired a DJ who played Robin Thicke's Sweetest Love for their first dance. To make the event more enjoyable, Apple and Joel even asked guests to stay overnight.
The couple really aimed to have fun on their wedding day, so they prepared well for it. Apple says, "Plan carefully and ahead of time. Choose suppliers you are comfortable with and who understand [your vision]. Do what you want because it's your wedding. Lastly, enjoy every minute because it only happens once in a lifetime!"
