With a Japanese / Oriental theme and magenta color motif, Anj and Arthur's Cebu wedding sported a bold kind of elegance that was nothing short of beautiful. With a dash of DIY projects and heartfelt numbers, the couple's January wedding also radiated warmth and harmony.

Love Story
Anj and Arthur met in the University of the Philippines, Cebu in 2006. Though they had just one class together, they barely knew or talked to each other since Anj was in a different relationship then. Two years later, Arthur chanced upon one of Anj's emails in the e-group of the class they had in common. Arthur then made an effort to reconnect with Anj. He then later on admitted to her how much he had a big crush on her when they were classmates. Through their constant dates, the two found out how much they had in common and clicked. "Traveling together helped us make the relationship flourish. Because he knew how much I wanted to go around places, he always made sure we went together," shares Anj.
One year into the relationship--and a day after Anj's birthday, Arthur invited her for breakfast. En route to their destination, Arthur asked Anj if she loved him enough to marry him. After saying yes to his question, Anj then saw Arthur pick out a ring from his pocket and popped the question. "I was so surprised it never occurred to me that he has been planning to propose. We both cried and were giddy when I said yes, the second time, without ado. I loved the fact that he just couldn't wait and I really didn't mind that we were just in the car," Anj fondly recalls.

Anj and Arthur exchanged I do's in Cebu with a Japanese/ Oriental-themed wedding. With a bold magenta color motif to accompany the theme, the couple's wedding turned out to be an elegantly bold and cheery affair. To make the event warm and intimate, the couple also dotted their wedding with DIY details such as the paper cranes, gift tags, table numbers, menu cards, and other stationery.
The bride shares, "The party was very light and easy; everyone was happy and comfortable, and had so much fun. The guests enjoyed the details, and they all participated in the program." Among their reception's highlights was their first dance--the couple swayed to the tune of Train's Marry Me, which the bride says was "just too perfect" for the two of them since the spoke exactly what they both feel for each other.
In pulling off a successful themed wedding, the bride says that "It helps if you have many sources of ideas like magazines [and] the Internet, [which] provides so many tips, schemes, and suggestions. It is also important to know what you want [to achieve]. I tried my best to stick to the agreed budget, as both of us do not want to have a wedding on credit," she adds.
