Van and Jeff wanted a fun and colorful shoot, and the annual Philippine International Hot Air Balloon Fiesta in Clark, Pampanga gave them the perfect opportunity to execute such concept.
The couple and their photographer, Joey Boquiren of Boquiren Photography, rose early and got to the venue at 5:30 a.m. Setting an early call time allowed them to shoot with the balloons in flight. Moreover, shooting early gave them the ideal lighting for the shoot. Van, a fan of bright and happy photos, also wanted to incorporate lots of sunshine in the pictures.
That day, not everything went according to the team's plan. Van and Jeff were surprised at the large number of event attendees that day, and that made shooting even more challenging. Moreover, the couple figured that they couldn't shoot at a real highway, since that would be dangerous. Despite such challenges, the couple made do with what they had. They shot with the balloons from afar, plus they found a road that looked like a highway.
The couple's willingness to compromise, plus the team's ability to think on their toes, all made the shoot a success. Van and Jeff proved their mettle, and the day's hitches turned out to be trivial after all.
