Holding a small, intimate wedding? Then Paco Chapel, also known as St. Pancratius Chapel, will suit your wedding church needs. This small, dome-shaped chapel lies at the center of the elliptical Paco Park. The fountain in front of the church will lend serenity to your wedding. The entourage’s walk will start from the entrance of the park and leads all the way to the altar. The simple interiors of the chapel make its adornments brighter.

Advise your guests to be early because parking spaces are only available outside the park. Ask them to prepare some change for the parking boys who will watch over the cars.

3. Manila Cathedral (Intramuros, Manila)

If you and your husband-to-be are sentimental, then the historic spot of Intramuros might just be the place for you. It houses ancient churches that have survived the test of time, which includes the Manila Cathedral. The cathedral is known for its main altar, which pays homage to the Immaculate Conception.

As in any church, ventilation is a concern. Manila Cathedral has air-conditioning, but the provision of this amenity will depend on the wedding package you choose. In case you find it costly to avail of the package with air-con, remind your guests to bring fans. Or better yet, provide your guests with nice, fancy fans that can already serve as your wedding giveaway!

Rental fee: PhP5,000-PhP40,000 (depending on wedding package chosen)

4. San Agustin Church (Intramuros, Manila)

Another church in Intramuros that boasts an ornate design and structure is the San Agustin Church. With its baroque architecture, this old stone church will be a great backdrop to your wedding ceremony. Adorning the church ceiling is a trompe l’oeil painting which can turn any bride’s walk down the aisle dreamy and majestic!

Make your reservations a year before one’s planned wedding date, since San Agustin is one of the most sought-after wedding churches in the metro. As a world heritage site, anticipate that there will be onlookers during your wedding. Assign good wedding ushers to assure the solemnity of your ceremony. There’s no need to worry about parking because the church grounds have enough parking space.

5. San Sebastian Church (Quiapo, Manila)

Want to break away from the traditional stone churches? Then consider the San Sebastian Church. Found amidst the busy streets of Quiapo, this unique structure stands out. Being made entirely of steel, and flaunting features of Gothic architecture, the church will provide an interesting backdrop for your wedding. The warm, intricate adornments inside the church, plus the elaborate stained glass windows, will make your wedding photos look like renaissance paintings.

Since it can be warm inside the church, it is best to hold your wedding here when the weather is cool. December is the peak month. Advise your guests to come early to secure a slot in the first come-first served parking space nearby.
