Our Win a Honeymoon Package to Bellarocca promo winner, Karen Gosingco Uy, just got back from her romantic vacation, and we couldn't wait to hear her story. Read on as she tells us about her dreamy honeymoon at Bellarocca Island Resort and Spa.
BridalBook: How did you find out about the promo?
Karen: I was checking updates in Facebook and saw that my friend posted a link to BridalBook.ph's link to the Bellarocca promo mechanics. Initially I thought that it was only meant for engaged couples, and was surprised to see that we were still eligible to join! Without hesitation, I posted the link on my Facebook page, and sent an email to the team as instructed.
I knew about Bellarocca while we were planning our wedding and wanted to go there after seeing pictures of the resort. It was [beyond our budget] though after we saw the rates.
I never expected that I'd get picked out of all the entries (I was hopeful but did not expect). Mike and I missed our honeymoon because I got pregnant at once. We had to cancel our Thailand trip (all the reservations for plane transfers and the hotel were made) because I was instructed to go on a three-week bed rest by my OB-GYNE. The Bellarocca trip was a sweet surprise! It was our official first honeymoon and the perfect R&R after spending sleepless nights with the baby.
BridalBook: How did the staff welcome you to Bellarocca Island Resort and Spa?
Karen: It was pure bliss! The whole experience was like a dream come true. The whole staff was very nice and hospitable from the moment they picked us up from the airport up until our last day. Mike and I both agree that the service we got was perfect--we'd rate it as 11 out of 10.
When we arrived at the airport, the Bellarocca staff were already there waiting for us and handed us cold towels and bottled water. After a 40-minute car ride and 5-minute rubber boat ride, we arrived in the island where more Bellarocca staff and the General Manager, Rudolf, were waiting for us. The staff gave us flower leis and took us to the resort main lobby for the briefing and welcome drinks. We were then escorted to our villa, Eden.
As we arrived in our room, I was happy to see a plate with chocolate covered corn flakes (white, milk and dark) on the table with "Welcome to Bellarocca" written on it.
BridalBook: Could you tell us about the amenities and activities you enjoyed?
Karen: The villa was so nice--I liked everything from the bedroom, living room, kitchen, bathroom and of course the infinity pool and sauna. Our room even had a maid's room and bathroom! We had a good view of the surrounding mountains.
After settling down when we arrived, we immediately hit the sauna and infinity pool. We spent the entire first day in the pool/sauna. For lunch we shared an order of crispy pata, which was good for three people, but was just enough for the two of us (we ate lunch at 3 p.m. since we got so excited to swim at the pool). They also served us complementary dinner rolls (yum!). For dinner, I had the ravioli while Mike tried their chicken and pork adobo with rice.
The next day, we went to the beach and tried their water sports. I was not really looking forward to go kayaking since I didn't know how to swim. However, after seeing a family kayaking with a Bellarocca staff tagging along just to make sure they were safe, I tried the sport. We kayaked around the island for about an hour. Mike and I then spent an hour along the beach shore picking up corals. I found a heart-shaped coral which I brought home as a souvenir. Mike then tried wind surfing while I watched him from the sea-side infinity pool. For dinner, the staff prepared a candle-lit dinner for all guests. They wrapped the tables with white linen, which added a really nice touch to the ambience of the place.
Our stay in the resort was one of the most memorable experiences we've ever had. The beauty of the resort coupled with the superb service of their staff is something we will never forget!
