A wedding marks one of the most special days in a woman's life. Because such an event only happens once, a bride would want nothing more but to look her best--and this is what inspires makeup artist Chix Tungpalan every time she dolls up a bride for her big day.

Chix has been in the makeup business since 2007. She underwent training at La Salle College International. Her makeup classes dealt with different models every week, which honed her skills in applying makeup to different kinds of faces. Her mentor then, RB Chanco, tagged her along as an assistant for advertising projects, product launches, and weddings. "Having experienced doing makeup in various fields, I felt that doing makeup in a wedding, which is a real life event, is the most rewarding. You get to be part of a woman's very special day," Chix shares.

As a wedding makeup artist, Chix's style principle is to enhance every bride's facial features, and give them a natural, timeless look. "I have observed that each bride exudes an extraordinary glow on her wedding day. [Makeup] is something that should enhance [her features] and not make the bride look like a different person," explains Chix. While Chix keeps the looks classic, she is also open to doing looks that veer away from the ordinary.

For brides deciding on their wedding day look, Chix advises them to go for the one that they are most comfortable with. They should also undergo a trial makeup session so that the bride and  the makeup artist can decide together which look suits the bride best. It is through these trial makeup sessions give Chix a chance to study her clients' features, personality, and style preferences. To keep her style, technique, and products up to date, Chix regularly attends workshops, reads makeup books, and watches makeup video turtorials.
