Julie Ferrer is barely in her mid-20s yet she already has years of professional make-up experience behind her. At 15, when most of us were just beginning to figure out which career path to follow, Julie started doing hair and make-up for friends and family. At 22, she decided to turn her already-serious hobby into a full-fledged profession, interning first at a local fashion magazine magazine to learn how picture-perfect magazine spreads are made and, at the same time, gather tips and tricks from celebrated make-up artists. When her internship ended, Julie took up Fashion Makeup at the Fashion Institute of the Philippines and then further honed her skills by working with various brands such as MAC cosmetics, L'Oreal, Maybelline, and Shu Uemura. Her foray into the bridal industry was another step towards growing her portfolio and mastering her craft.
Brides can expect Julie to be very versatile given her rich background. With her motto being "whatever the bride wants, the bride gets," Julie can make brides look pretty in simple and elegant make-up or sexy, using a more conceptual styling approach. Julie is a firm believer that it's her job as a make-up artist to make every bride look as stunning as she has always dreamed of on her wedding day.
Her make-up portfolio reveals an array of gorgeous brides in her favorite looks: vintage makeup and sophisticated bridal styling with an edge. Asked what her secret is to making her brides look effortlessly beautiful, Julie says she takes her time with bridal makeup, focusing on each step carefully as if she were doing the Queen's makeup and her life depended on it. She added that prepping the skin properly according to the bride's skin type and using the correct moisturizer and primer also helps, since these things make sure the makeup glides smoothly and lasts the whole day.
As Julie continues to glamorize models and celebrities in different local magazines and newspapers, she also brings out the star in women-turned-brides, helping them achieve their dream looks and letting them shine on their wedding day.
