People have a knack for storing items that remind them of happy times. Keeping photographs is one way of preserving fleeting moments so they may be revisited again in the future. Jay Mayuga Photography immortalizes life's different milestones, such as weddings, in noteworthy pictures.
Jay's love for his craft propels him to create precious mementoes of a couple's big day. His enthusiasm for photography started after he finished college and got his first DLSR. He shares, "I was immediately hooked with my new gadget then. I just kept shooting everything such as landscapes, portraits, and macro to name a few."
Jay continued to take photos, until his newfound hobby developed into something he'd do for a living. "My passion in taking portraits grew, and I eventually focused on taking portraits and shooting at events for my relatives. After which, I began photographing weddings as well," says Jay.
Today, Jay the wedding photographer aims to capture a couple's most special day in photographs. The overwhelming emotions at weddings inspire his work. Jay's style is minimalistic in order to preserve and highlight his subjects' natural and candid expressions. He maintains that true and real emotions, when captured, add impact to photographs.
To build good relations with his clients, he establishes a calm atmosphere so couples would feel comfortable in his presence. He makes sure that he and his clients are on the same page in terms of expected outcomes, so that he can deliver what is expected of him.
To keep growing as a photographer, Jay goes online to update his skills and techniques. In addition, he also studies the work of other photographers so he could incorporate new ideas into his photos. By constantly learning, Jay aims to be a household name in the bridal industry. He shares, "I want to be a part of every couple's dream wedding and become a must-have at every event."
