Led by Jody Liwanag, Events Experts started 10 years ago, when Jody got married, and she realized that she enjoyed planning her wedding. Trained in planning corporate events from her previous job, Jody found it easy to get the hang of wedding preparations, especially when it came to logistics. After successfully coordinating the weddings of her friends, Jody established Events Experts' name as a reputable wedding and events management team.
While other coordinators present all-in-one wedding packages featuring other services, Events Experts offers purely planning and coordination services, such as full management, turn-over management, and on-the-day management. "We do not want to include in our services things that are not our expertise, or are not controllable from our end. But we really guide our clients to get the best suppliers for them based on their budget and preference," explains Jody.
Jody and her team make sure they communicate with clients every step of the way. "Once a client books us, we normally sit down with them to discuss how they envision their wedding. I ask them to prepare their mood boards so I will have an idea of their preferences, and then we develop [their concept] further by suggesting how to cohesively put order [in their ideas]," shares Jody.
She adds, "We also discuss their working budget for the entire wedding. We have to adhere to their set budget, but we give them honest feedback if their working budget is workable or not. We then book the important suppliers. We help finalize details even up to reviewing the missalette and invitation, church documentation and facilitation, handling RSVP, conceptualizing for the reception program, and preparing all other materials."
With Events Experts' extensive wedding planning and coordination services, it is no wonder that most of their clients are Filipino couples based abroad. Through email, Skype, and Viber, Jody and her team makes overseas couples feel like they are right here planning the wedding themselves. "We strengthen our ties with clients based abroad, [mostly] Filipinos who [come home] to the Philippines to celebrate their union with their families and friends. We are going to [find more] ways to reach out to this market in the next couple of years. We want to help make the Philippines a very valuable choice for destination weddings," Jody says.
