If you're dealing with stress from things other than your wedding and you feel that you can't handle any more, then you might just need a wedding coordinator who is tasked to take care of the details of your wedding. They accomplish the major to-do's like going to ocular inspections for venues, scouting for décor materials, organizing meetings with suppliers, arranging fittings for your entourage, and attending to RSVP—among many other things. If just thinking about these tasks already makes you weary and makes you wonder how you can fit all of them in your schedule, then a wedding coordinator will definitely be a big help.
However, don't leave all the decision-making tasks to your coordinator. At the very least, discuss how you want your wedding to be—this will give him or her a clearer idea of what you want to achieve for your wedding. You might not need a coordinator if...
1. You want to do things your way.
If you feel that every single detail needs to go through you, it might be better for you to do without a coordinator. Some brides also opt not to hire a coordinator since they want to have direct contact with their suppliers. If you can handle following up on your suppliers and guests, then you can probably manage planning your wedding.
Moreover, some brides want their wedding to be a great DIY project, so they take on the tasks themselves, or they assign close family and friends to help them out. Since you know everyone who's helping out with the wedding, you can remind them of their tasks even without the help of a coordinator.
