I was talking to my friend Marielle the other day about my invitations and I was fascinated with her own story.
She said she had gone to the same printer that two of our other friends used to inquire about the cost. Apparently, they had spent about P300 per invite. Like me, she didn't want to spend too much on her invitation but she also did want something different.
What she did was really clever. She ordered the most basic invitation from the company, which came out to about P75 per piece at the time (she got married in January of 2010).
She ordered gold boxes at P15 each and had their initials engraved onto square shell tags for quite cheap too. She used the boxes as a case to hold the invitation, map, and other inserts and tied the tag to it with a gold ribbon.
The effect was definitely elegant and memorable and the total came out to about P100 or less. Isn't it genius? She called it being creative.
Now I'm thinking of a way to be extra creative since I'll be assembling my own invitations. I was thinking of spritzing it with fragrance or maybe putting a few loose, pressed rose petals into the envelope.
We'll see! I'm quite excited!
