Regine Velasquez and Ogie Alcasid's wedding was one of the most anticipated and talked-about celebrity events in the country last year. But amidst all the buzz about the high-profile guests and the red Monique Lhuillier wedding gown, it was the couple's dreamy reception décor that made their union all the more special.
Events stylist Michael Badang Rueda of Victorian Blooms shares that it was Regine's sister, Cacai, who was totally hands-on for the wedding's reception styling. Cacai just relayed what Regine basically wanted for her wedding and Badang was there to listen and execute the idea. Regine wanted a beach wedding but was also drawn to the charm and romance of a French, rustic vineyard theme, and so these ideas became inspirations for the big day.
Badang fused the two concepts seamlessly. He crafted lush floral arrangements and wood accents, which decorated the tables. White wide-brimmed beach umbrellas complemented the reception at Terrazas de Punta Fuego's scenic beachfront. Acacia wood boards used as place mats channeled the rustic theme, while blown glass crystal drops, which were hung from the umbrellas, gave the reception an elegant flair. Badang also used a color palette of soft pastels to give the wedding a sweet and refreshing air of romance.
While Regine and Ogie's theme seemed complex, Badang's efforts proved that such a grand and special wedding deserved nothing less. Badang says that Regine was very appreciative of what he did for the reception, and that Regine thought that his styling made her and Ogie feel like royalty.
