Ako, I forgot my wedding gown, my groom's barong and our flower girl's dress, sa hotel room when I switched hotels for preps. Buti na lang my coord checked after I moved that I have everything.

My coord's staff checked that I have everything 4 days before the wedding when I arrived and then checked again the day before. She also sorted what need to go to the church and what needs to go to the reception and what needs to stay with me for preps.

Based from all the weddings I've attended, I guess your worst would be the one na merong super looonnnggg reception program. Even if close friends kami and I truly am happy for them, I can't help to be bored na, as in dragging na masyado and I can't wait for it to end. Imagine it was a sunrise wedding, started before 6AM and it ended around 11AM na yata! Whew!

Kaya nga on our wedding, I'll make sure na the reception program would be short, simple, but enjoyable for all the guests :)

I can't say that it was the worst wedding i've attended but its the most memorable one. My heart bleed for my cousin. They had a beach reception after their 4pm church wedding. Since it was around January they rented out parachute tent which was perfect for their rustic theme. The set up was beautiful, according to the 4 photos taken by the coordinator. Unfortunately for them the tent collapsed an hour before the reception and destroyed all the set up. Fortunately the caterer opted not to set his food under the tent but set it up in a small cabana/hut on the side. The caterer and the coordination decided not to have the tent set up again to avoid accidents and reset under the stars and whatever left of the centerpieces. Just the couples luck, it rained. Not just a drizzle but a downpour. All the more than 150guest got crumpled into the small hut were the caterer has set up. Since candle lanterns were no longer lit since the wind keeps blowing it off, it was very dark; too bad people were not able to see the very cute lanterns, photo mosaic and dreamcatchers hanging around the trees. Everyone was hungry, cold and uncomfortable but felt bad for the couple that we were all willing to still make the night in a celebratory mood. The couple danced in the rain, under the stars, cried some tears but the funny thing is the bride still got what she loves, she love sand on her toes, she loves the beach (even attempted to swim the morning of her wedding day), she loves the rain, the night breeze and Surrounded by the people she loves. The wedding was far from perfect but it was one for the books.

^^Awww its not their fault naman. Its something that we can't control. Kung isa ako sa bisita i would have stayed too.

I would stay din to lift up their spirit. :)

Ako naman I attended a wedding and tipong yung mom ng bride ay nagpapakastage mother na sobrang tutok.
Example - siya yung nag didirect on how to release the doves. Nung di magsabay yung release - sumimangot. Good thing is cool pa din and composed yung couple.
Plus mahirap yung alam mong parang may tension both families. Parang not in good terms.
Only child kasi si bride.
I salute the couple however kasi kahit may mga ganon, makikita mo talaga yung love nila for each other. :)

Chili1113 :o :o :o : Sis, speechless ako sa shinare mo! May ganyan pala talagang mga tao? Wow! 50k maliit for them?! Geez! So materialistic and cheap - classless, at ang sama ng ugali nilang lahat.

Lumalabas ginawa lang principal sponsor dad mo because they know that your dad is capable na magbigay ng mamahalin or malaking gift and not because may relevance siya sa magiging buhay may-asawa nung ikinasal.

Only in the PH mapa may kaya o mahirap halos pareho ang asal pag mukha pera.

:o Whoah may ganyan pala talaga na tao. I don't even know what to think of that couple and their family.

@chili1113: Honestly sis mas concerned ako na they didn't even think of your Dad's health condition... Whatever your Dad may be going through with his health, naisip ko that also involves medical payments and other stuff... Para sakin, whether you can afford it or not, hindi biro ang magkaroon ng health issue. Clearly that wasn't the priority of the couple... It was probably more on what they can get from your Dad. I really hope your Dad is feeling much better now (if this happened recently).

Hindi ko alam if that couple is disappointed that they weren't able to get back all the wedding expenses, or sadyang ganyan talaga sila... They just validated my thoughts that no matter how well off you are, you just can't buy class, and even good values.

^Grabe sis. Nakakainit ng ulo. Ang kakapal naman ng mukha nila. Yuck hindi ba sila nahiya man lang? I'm sure hindi nila kayang ipagsabi na kaya nagkaroon ng feud between your families is because naging mukhang pera sila.

Thank you everyone for your comments =) But sorry I think I have to delete my posts,.

The issue and family feud is getting bigger, and I would rather delete my comments as the bride and groom might read it and I do not want to further add to the drama that they  and their wedding caused.

But we are in disbelief at the treatment my family has received, and super sad mostly for my mom because she has been crying that she and her sister are not in speaking terms. My mom is the most hurt about everything.

To that  couple: WOW, what a way to start your married life-- spreading misery and creating a big family feud. Good riddance toxic people.

I also experienced a wedding na mejo ganyan kagulo. My close friend from college got married a few years back and mejo madalian kaya kulang time mag prepare. Kinuha nya kong host along with our other friend who's in showbiz. Eh hinde ako marunong mag host noh. Tapos walang coordinator and they relied on us to work things out during their wedding, super gulo talaga. Tapos, our artista friend, dumating, patapos na yung reception kase galling sa taping so I had to host on my own na wala kong kaalam alam. I was quite upset talaga.

Waah

I attended a very memorable (not in a good way) wedding of a friend.

We were panicking before the wedding started, because the bride's immediate family was no where to be found due to traffic and they left the hotel late. The main reason they left the hotel late was that the makeup artist had hard time finishing her work. They arrived after after an hour. They were lucky the church only books one wedding for morning and another one for the afternoon. The priest assigned needed to conduct a baptism first in the same baptismal chapel in a couple minutes. So we had wait for him to finish the baptism first we waited for almost another hour before it finally started. Since everything was late and it was lunch time already  the ceremony was rushed, no homily was conducted. The reception was no better since everyone was rushing to go home (this is a destination wedding), waiters wanted to take their break and the venue needs to be cleared to prepare for the evening event.

One wedding that sticks out for me (not in a good way), is yung during reception, nag-program muna ng pagkatagal tagal. But of course hindi pa pwedeng kumuha ng food. Lol.
So take note sa mga B2Bs, huwag gutumin ang guests. Be cobsiderate to your guests especially kung bumyahe pa ng malayo just to go to your wedding.  ;D

Last month, we attended a wedding where my son was a candle-bearer. Late na nag-start yung wedding ceremony dahil umuulan and na-stuck sa traffic yung bride! Unfortunately, yung reception ginanap sa ancestral home nung bride with tents lang and dahil nga umuulan, imagine the hassle ng basa na lupa (at least hindi putik).  I'm pretty sure di rin nila in-expect na uulan coz the wedding was last May so summer pa dapat sya.

Idagdag pa ang catering na understaffed. Naubusan sila ng ice and hindi lahat ng tables nabigyan ng appetizer to ease the hunger man lang sana.  ::)

Yung last na naattendan ko wedding ng cousin ko, sa Batangas City (the house is very near SM) hinde baryo, the reception sa bahay ng bride (my cousin).

I was with my sis & cousins bale yung 1 cousin ko proxy siya ng kapatid nya na nasa abroad who's 1 of the principal sponsors, dala namin of course yung cash gift ni cousin siyempre sakto na yun diba. wala kami kasamang oldies. Ayun nawitness namin yung inaannouce yung amount ng bigay ng bawat ninong ninang tapos parang auction ang dating, nagpapataasan, grabe din kasi yung host mangbuyo, mappressure ka talaga kung principal sponsor ka, eh kami sakto dala namin so in the end yung cousin ko abroad ang pinakamababa ang bigay kasi wala naman kami pangdagdag,  alangan naman itawag pa namin sa pinsan ko abroad if ok siyang magdadag hahaha. Paulit ulit yung host sa pangalan ng Ninang/ninong & how much. Ganito pa pag announce. From Ninang _________ (name of my cousin) from __________ (country where my cousing lives)  ____ pesos !

My cousin was honest na kumita sila sa wedding nila. Well, kaclose naman daw niya mga principal sponsors niya & they were willing to spend.

Grabe sis :o

I think this is the worst thing ever sa kasal. Nagiging politics na ang weddings ngayon which is really sad kase nawawala yung meaning ng celebration. Probably me talking as an independent  but I really feel strongly about paying for your own wedding kase nga wedding mo yun, not your parents or anyone else's and since I want an intimate destination wedding, I'd rather ask my guests for their presence than having them to give us physical nor cash gifts. LOL
