Hi @foxlady I don't book PAL often but the few times I tried, mas mura to wait and book for PAL online promos. Ticketing offices are almost always more expensive bec of the service charge and you also have to pay for the travel tax outright. I've also tried queuing in travel expos. Not worth the hassle. Just book online Also, SC discount is applicable to domestic flights only and cannot be applied if you're booking promo fare.

Ang worry ko lang kasi is baka hind mag promo at all yung preferred dates namin since it's holy week.. i'm torn between maghintay ng promo or magbook as early as possible kasi baka tumaas pa as the date nears.

@foxlady no probs! Went to BDO travel sale once. PAL handed out a brochure tapos from what I remember, they had promo fares for both peak and off peak. Of course mas expensive yung peak season. Try visiting the PAL website once in a while, and book as early as you can. Good luck!

Has anyone tried the bid for upgrade of PAL? How was it? How much is your bid? The last two flights I took with PAL (Australia and SG), i received this bid upgrade email but I never tried it. Planning to send a bid on my next flight this December.

Gusto ko sanang mag PAL. Premium economy or Economy to the US. Meron na bang experience dito na na-upgrade sila for free to Business from Premium Economy or Economy to Premium Economy even if hindi naman frequent flyer ng PAL? btw, madalas akong ma-upgrade sa ibang airlines, and I try to be a member of their frequent flyer programs, kahit di naman talaga frequent flyer. BTW uli, I am a member ng Mabuhay Miles pero local flights ko lang na-earn. I have yet to fly PAL internationally. They have a bad rep kaya di ko na tina try pag long haul. Pero this time I want to try them, kung may chance na maupgrade.

^I almost always fly PAL internationally and all those times, maayos naman sila,  My most recent trip was to NY and I loved it.  Madaming food, mabait na attendants and magaling na pilots.  Of course, hindi kasi ganda yung facilities ng plane like sa Cathay (isa pa sa airlines na sinasakyan ko) but in terms of service and warmth, i like Pal. 

My parents who are both seniors, almost always get upgraded to biz class everytime they fly with Pal.

Thanks sis. So how much was your MNL-NYC rt ticket, if you don't mind? Like you, I also almost always take CX. Ang usual ko is $1200 rt sa economy and minsan naa-upgrade to Premium Economy. Pag nag PE naman ako, usually it goes for $1900, naa-upgrade ako sa Business. Usually, naa-upgrade ako sa CX, pag may another flight ako onwards to another US city using American Airlines. I book just two to three weeks before the trip, at sa ticketing office nila sa Ayala Ave.. Sa PAL kaya, what should be the ideal timetable?

Seniors lang ba kadalasan naa-upgrade sa PAL?

It's been more than a year since my last post on GT!

Good to know that they've slowly been retrofitting their A330s. Great looking Mabuhay Class, premium Y and regular Y cabins now, all with screens for IFEs. On selected routes, though.

Will fly to ICN on the 2nd week of Nov and according to the seat map, for now, it's the old layout. I'll be flying to HKG a couple of days after I come back to MNL, and it's showing the newer cabin layout for the A330.

Hi Gaysha, our ticket was around 980 USD each inclusive of taxes na.  We usually book 5-6 months in advance, not sure kung may difference sa price.  And in our experience, parents ko lang lagi na-u-upgrade hehe.  Iba rin kasi mag-alaga ang Pal sa mga matatanda kaya madaming lolo't lola kaming kasabay. Isang barkada silang mga naka-wheelchair.

Kung mag request ba ng wheelchair assistance, hingi sila ng medical clearance lumipad yung pasahero?

pwede yan, basta wala pa kayo pareho na seat number or basta may available pang seats na magkatabi.

each passenger ang baggage allowance. kung 2 kayo at allowed eh 30kg 60 ang total baggage allowance nyo 2.
