BORACAY Wedding (Thread 3)

Oh I am so excited for all of you to have your wedding in Boracay! Reading all your posts takes me back and l kinda miss the preps too  We just had our wedding in Asya on march 2nd and if I could go back, I would marry my man all over again!

-Had Amanda and team for full coordination and what a well oiled machine on the day of the wedding!
-Wow 35k for fireworks? We paid about 20k for 2 mins and sooo worth it
- Our sand castle was great but at the same time looked somehow cliched
-Boracay Phoenix Dancers was entertaining and so full of talent!
-Andrew Wolff was so personable, great host, and definitely an eye candy for our guests 
-DJs in Boracay are so pricey especially they don't do the emcee role which I'm used to seeing. We got DJ Eric and he played most of our suggested songs and the genre we wanted, so still happy!
-Fern Quimpo worked his magic on us and definitely satisfied with his work. I had a trial with him which I used for my prenup shoot 
- Loovee the work of Love Train for our photos. They even had a SDE slide show and their adorable USB was such a keepsake.
- MemKlips was our videographers and I can't wait to watch our SDE again once they're done editing. They even used a drone! Contract did say it may take up to a month to edit everything 
-Florista did my bouquet and my entourage. Mehhh, I thought I said I wanted peach roses on there but nope just white ones which I'm totally fine with cus it was still beautiful. One of those "not everything will go your way moment" but dang flowers are pricey too! 
- We also had the globelights and was miffed with the 5k electricity charge... just milk it why don't ya heheh anyways it was still a lovely touch to the reception.

Anyways that's all I could think of. Enjoy the preps everyone!

^For OTD, I recommend Mulberry Events and Planning

For hosts, fat_pat recommended andrew wolff, although mulberry can recommend another one half the price.

If you have the budget go for the Highly recommended Amanda Tirol for the OTD, however Mulberry events is also a good OTD coord at a more afforadable rates. Just back read specially on thread 2 for testimonials on Amanda and thread 3 for testimonials on Mulberry.

I am so happy to have finally booked a venue huhuhuhu 1 down!!

Since hindi pwede ang Asya on our date, we were considering Estacio Uno (kung san ko sya sinagot) or Mövenpick. And kanina sa WeddingsnBeyond, we finally sealed the deal with Mövenpick. 😄

At least the package includes a dedicated Wedding Coordinator so i guess that solves most of our problems. It sucks lang na walang projector. Additional pa sya, but hey, at least makakahinga na ako and move on to other matters.

I wanted this too, I specifically asked for this na isama sa SDE namin.  Typically, fireworks is at the end of the reception, but since I wanted it captured on our SDE, our reception program was revised.  It was inserted at the very beginning right after our grand entrance.  So that's something you should think about

Firedancers - wala sya sa SDE namin but it's on our 15-minute cinematic highlights and it looked spectacular!  Everybody is gushing on it esp those who weren't able to attend, so if you can, go hire the Boracay Phoenix Dancers

I do not have their contacts as everything was coursed thru Amanda but to give you an idea for the rates are (note: this is for our Dec 2014 wedding):
DJ Eric = 15K
Boracay Phoenix = 4K
Globelights - 8K per set (2 sets recommended)

Also, do not forget your crew meals and transportation for your guests

Thanks sa tip, hindi ko talaga naisip yang sa fireworks sequence. Need to talk to boracay phoenix directly, kasi ni refer nila ako sa website nla na ang quote nila ay 8K.

Quote kasi ng Asya sa crew meal ay P150, not sure kung ano yung kasama, thinking what 150 can buy these days. Although supplier ko sila, ayoko ko din naman silang tipirin, kasi happy supplier means better output.

What do you think should be the fair budget or anong klaseng meal is considered decent? Fastfood fried chicken for me does not constitute a decent meal.

^hi pat, for the suppliers food, 250 per pax  per meal yung binayaran namin. Si mulberry na nagprovide. complete meal na sya. May rice, ulam, veggies, dessert at water.

Probably not, kasi inclusive na yung dedicated Wedding Coordinator sa package. And to be fair ah, mas mahal nga sya pero sobrang sulit ng package ng Mövenpick. Like i don't really have to worry about anything else (other than the budget lol)

Yung add ons lang nila yung mej kamahalan.

Can't disclose the amount eh, but it is definitely higher than Asya.
So had to adjust the budget for P/V ng slight para may buffer pa kami.
Aside from Playlife Studios, any other P/V na kasya sa 100k? gusto ko sana may SDE and engagement shoot.

Do you guys think it's better to book a 5-6 man team from Manila and fly them sa Boracay if all perks naman are inclusive (albums + SDE + pre nup + Slideshow)? There are tons of good photographers naman sa Bora/Cebu/Iloilo na 40-50k range pero i can't seem to find a decent videographer na nasa 50-60k range.

Also please double check that the one provided by Movenpick is indeed a wedding coordinator not their event coordinator. As event coordinator will only handle matters within the resort. I have a chat with my coord, and it was mention in passing that they have a wedding being coord in Movenpick, so I am wondering why would that couple hire a wedding coordinator if Movenpick is already providing one.

Hi! Aside sa Mulberry may iba pa ba kayong alam na coordinator na mura pero ok naman? I'll be having an intimate wedding, 30-40 pax, and mostly family members talaga. Gusto ko lang may mag guguide sa reception if ever and sa supplier (p/v). Hindi ko rin kasi alam dapat na program pag ganun kakonti lang. Thanks!

So far yung mulberry yung nakita kung mura, kng program guide at someone to manage the wedding sequence at kung ikaw na mag hhandle ng mga suppliers m, Kunin mo nalang yung OTD service nila...

hi mga sis!!! Dream ko talaga ang Boracay wedding, inggit ko sa inyo! original plan is boracay talaga pero nun inaasyos na namin ni h2b na realize niya na mahirap daw ayusin..huhuhuh! nauwi kame sa glass garden. pero happy parin naman ako
