Caleeice: il do the same. As much as I love seeing the PS in the same motiff, baka i will go traditional na lang and have them wear beige or champagne or mocha. Other PS kasi already has a lot of pang ninang na gown and tingin ko mas bagay sa majority of my ninang yung ganun color. And i guess mas konti maririnig kong comment atleast di masyado mahirap hanapin ang color. With my bridesmaids kasi ang somewhere in between ng motiff ko.

Kisses: Yeah, we decided to heed the advice because our mums would reprimand us if the elders had a lot to say about our "requirements". And okay na rin because less cost and effort on our part as well. Hahaha. But of course, it's best to discuss this with your parents so they can help you out since they probably know your elders better.

For my female PS (I only have 2 btw), I will just let them wear any neutral beige colored gown. My mom kasi really finds it such a hassle to have gowns made when she is asked to be a ninang and is given the fabric to have sewn into a gown. I know this is the norm these days and is acceptable; however, I would like to be extra considerate and let them decide what fabric to wear, or perhaps re-use a gown they had already worn as ninang in another wedding.

Question(s): Any feedback on Leonard Co? We had some gowns made by him/them years ago. Back then, parang contemporaries lang sila ni Edward Teng. Now, "Edward Teng" na pala si Edward Teng. Now, whenever I pass by his store ho-hum lang what I see on the window. I'm looking for a designer around QC lang who's used to doing entourages. How about Anthony Ramirez? I like his contemporary designs. Unique & clean. TIA!

 i like this idea too. my mom was a PS for so many couples na and she never got a free gown let alone free fabric from the couples. she always wears filipiniana or neutral color gowns. i won't have them in too many pics and vids naman unlike my bridesmaids so okay lang siguro na hindi masyadong uniformed.

So we just gave them swatches to inform them that color palette for them is beige. They were all happy to oblige since the color is neutral and they could easily wear their dresses for other events.

Win-win situation. We got to save costs from buying cloths or shouldering their gowns and they got to freely choose their attire and were not forced to spend money to have dresses done which they cannot use later on (those which follow color motifs).

same here sis caleeice. we did not provide the swatches though. i told lang my mom to inform the ninongs/ninangs when we give the invitation to wear brown/nude/beige dresses and barong tagalog for ninongs naman. I don't mind if iba-iba oufit basta same shade. Kasi nga baka mapamahal sila and feeling ko nakakapressure din sa kanila. unless ako nga magprovide ng damit nila pero di na keri ng budget kaya ayun hehe

i also did this for our ninangs. since most of them are active on facebook, i created a note with my preferred color palette and also sample design ng gowns kase i wanted to be specific na floor-length gowns ang pwede then i tagged them na lang. i didn't want to impose on them to purchase gowns since malaki na ang ginastos ng some of my titas sa travel pa lang since they're based abroad.

i find neutral colors to be complementary on most skin colors kaya that's an added plus na since they can use it for other occasions.

Hi mga sis, medyo out of topic question ata. But I'll ask na din. Does your fiance have a say on your wedding gown? Or iniinvolve nyo ba sya pag namimili kayo ng design? Ito kasi ang next 'to do' ko for my 2016 wedding, yung gown ko na hehe. Yung iba ko kasi nababasa dito, surprise kay groom yung design ng gown nila and mismong wedding day lang makikita ni groom. Parang gusto ko din ng idea na yun.

sis janagirl, my now-husband gave input for my gown.
initially kase i wanted a-line lang para di masyadong tumaas yung price ng gown. over the budget na kase kame when i decided to get a designer gown instead na divi so ang compromise ko is yung silhouette na lang. pero nung kinukwento ko na sya kay then-fiancé sabe nya ayaw nya daw ng a-line kase hinde "sexy." kahit taasan ko pa daw yung budget basta wag lang a-line. hehe
and true enough, bagay naman yung mas gusto nya na fit-and-flare. kahit si roxy mas boto dun and thanks din to her kase kahit nagpapalit ako ng silhoutte di sya mag-adjust ng presyo.

Hi janagirl, for our church wedding next year, my wedding gown will remain as a surprise to my husband   until our wedding day. He doesn't have a say whatsoever, even with the price since ako bumili nun hehe. I just took my one of my best friends to the bridal shop wherein I had the fitting. It's best to vring a few people only, as too many will give so many comments and what will happen is that your judgement regarding what dress to wear will be clouded.  One tip is that, to make sure that your gown will go with the theme you have.

^I've shown the sketch of my gown to h2b but he didnt have much of an input since my h2b doesnt know much about wedding gown styles LOL!! My brother is getting married next year and his fiance is going for an rtw gown. They were together when she made a final choice. My brother didn't stay in the shop when she was making her final choice. He's seen the picture of the gown but not while his fiance was actually trying it on.

Hi janagirl, it depends naman on personal preference. I have a few friends whose grooms came with them during fitting, and others naman like chili1113's fiancé who were shown the sketches (they didn't understand what they saw tho haha)

Personally I'm keeping it a surprise for my fiancé, and would just let him see it as part of an entire look on the day itself. We did discuss and agree on the budget since we're funding everything 50-50.

i used to show him my wedding gown pegs and sinasabi nya if OK or not (though di rin naman ako makikinig sa kanya, ang brat lang HAHA). Pero never pa nya nakita nung nag-first and second fitting ako of my final gown. gusto daw nyang sa wedding day na nya ko makitang suot yung gown hihi.

hi janagirl, depends on your arrangement. sinama ko si h2b during my 1st appointment with roxy and actually let him pick the color of the fabric since he's more artistic than me mas alam niya yung bagay na color. he saw a totally different sketch though since he did not see the final design since we changed the cut of the gown. he only has 1 requirement...no frou frou skirts kasi mukha daw ako kakainin ng fabric.

if you go for rtw, i suggest visiting as much shops as you can. there was one gown in ivory and lace that i liked but never got to try. inquire ka rin with inclusions per store since medyo nag iiba iba...including ano ang free na alterations, etc. enjoy dress hunting!

just emailed her about two weeks ago. her assistant replied na 100k starting price nya. i like her laces too but too much for my budget
