Hi Caleeice!! I love both photographers and you can't go wrong with either one. I really like their style vs something too editorial-ish. So I guess in this case just go with your gut feel. Or whichever you feel has more value for your money.

My brother got Pat do do his wedding and pics were awesome! I though was going to get Nelwin Uy until I came across J Lucas Reyes whose style I liked and found out he used to train with Nelwin. Then found out later on that he was h2bs high school classmate, and that did it for me. My cousin got Metrophoto -Oly and while the pics were gorgeous and dramatic, I wouldnt say she was at her prettiest due to the high contrast photos. Jay jay Lucas also is someone I wouldn't mind getting!

All those photographers above have natural poses for their couples, very classic and clean photo compositions. I also like that not one of those above over-process their pictures. I really stay away from those photographers that rely on post-processing to correct raw shots. Most of the pics you will receive will be in its raw form, so it is best the photographer takes good raw images without relying on editing software to make the photos look good.

My friend used to work for Pat Dy as an editor. All I can say is that very OK talaga photos nya. But, Nelwin Uy is also magaling. Tama si sis Chili whoever you decide on getting you won't go wrong. Just pick what you feel has the best value for your money. The albums can also be purchased later on. What's important are the outcome of their photos. Good luck sis caleeice! ☺

My family and my fiancé are concerned about Pat's arrival in PH. At first I had no worries. I even took it as a sign. Then naisip ko their concerns and thought that they have a point. I don't even know what time he's arriving. 

Chili, I like JLR's photos as well. I actually asked for his rates yesterday But I'm also taking into consideration my videographer's recommendations so I won't have to worry whether they're fine working together.

Reese, I'll check Jeff & Lisa. They were recommended by our videog as well. But... Dito ba un where there was nega feedback about them? I can't remember what the feedback was though.

Thank you juwie. I talked to both and they told me I can get albums anytime after wedding.

Caleeice: I agree with your relatives. 2 Days before coming home from a US trip might not be enough time for Pat to get into his groove just yet, and might be distracted with all the little things he needs to do upon arrival. Will Pat's US trip be for work or leisure? Because, another way of seeing things is that Pat will be recharged having just come back from a vacation, if that is the case. Good luck in deciding!

Sis caleeice, anong peg ba ang gusto mo sa photos mo? if you want fresh and vibrant na di masyadong heavy ang editing, you might want to consider Manny and April. They have reasonable rates sa service only at yung package na with album na. I also love their candid and night shots

caleeice, I probably would've hired JLR if I were getting married in Manila hehe. So I vote for him if he's available.

Pat Dy's photos are a touch too warm for my taste... that's definitely a personal preference though, and there's no denying he's really good and reputable. That said, I think the timing of his arrival could be an issue -- when you say two days before, is it the Thursday night before a Saturday wedding? Or the Wednesday morning? For what it's worth, my photographer is flying to my wedding destination and she's scheduled to arrive on Wednesday morning -- it's buffer time in case there are any flight delays etc. Like Pat she travels a lot for assignments so I'm not worried naman about jetlag or anything.

Caleeice: for me naman between pat dy and nelwyn, i would choose Nelwyn Uy. Di pa ako engaged gustong gusto ko na sya kaso i cant afford him. Oyo boy and kristine hermosa got them for their wedding and the wedding pictures were all gorgeous. Vibrant. I love J Lucas Reyes too, very elegant.  The arrival of Pat Dy will give you additional stress sis. But still, go with your gut feel ☺️

Wow, several votes for JLR. Okay, will ask him if he's still available. Hehe. JLR's rates mention "10 hours wedding coverage". Would that be an issue? Parang bitin.

Yeah, I'm really concerned about Pat's arrival. Sevenstars, he'll be arriving Thursday daw for a Saturday wedding. I don't know what time though! Still waiting for his assistant's confirmation.

caleeice: JLR has 12 hours coverage for the package that comes with a parents' albums and 10 for other packages. I think if you go over the hours indicated there is a minimal fee of P2500 per hour. It is best if you call the cel number on their website and also send an email since you are short on time.

caleeice, JLR was trained by Nelwin Uy. He's also super super nice so I can't imagine your videographers not getting along with him. Do you want the cell num of his studio manager, Brian? I can send it via PM so you can check his availability.

yes Nelmin Uy trained JLR but if you check recent work of JLR you can see that he has really developed his own style and his photos are different from Nelwin's. I find Nelwin's recent photos more editorial in style, however not as much as Mangored or Metrophoto. JLR is similar to Pat Dy's style of natural, yet carefully composed shots yet without the warm colors that are really characteristic of Pat's photos. I think he tries to make his shots appear like they were taken on film for that classic look. They are all very good, I think it is a matter of preference.  If you prefer vibrant colors, Jay Jay Lucas is very good too!

Reese, I'm now texting Brian. JLR is available on our wedding date!!!  Can I just share how much I LOVE the fact that our wedding falls on a weekday!!! Pat, Nelwin and JLR are all available on our wedding. Hahaha! I think I need to sleep over this tonight. Ang hirap to decide!

Sis caleeice, you might want to consider Foreveryday Photography (Gail Bitoon) too. He is Pat Dy's apprentice but he now has his own studio. His shooting style is similar to Pat Dy but his colors are like J Lucas Reyes. I really love his beauty shots and his colors are so fresh. He really learned well from his mentor. And his poses are not pilit, they're leaning on natural but elegant looking You may also check the reviews about him here in GT. Everyone's raving about his work, attitude and professionalism. Sorry I sound like a super fan but I really am kasi. Hehe.

Looks like we're getting a new photographer. I'm now torn between Pat Dy and Nelwin Uy.

Pat Dy
Pros:
- Gorgeous photos. He really brings out that bridal glow!
- He's honestly my top pick.

Cons:
- He's currently in the US and won't arrive until 2 days before our wedding. We're still waiting for confirmation from his assistant. But my family is concerned that baka mabitin kami if he doesn't arrive in time or something unexpected comes up.
- Expensive. I only get 1 album for the package I'm getting. +100k if I wanted the package with more albums. I have not factored that in our budget.

Nelwin Uy
Pros:
- Great photos as well, but haven't done as much research about him yet.
- He's available on our wedding.
- More inclusions in his package for almost the same rate. More albums!!!

Cons:
- I don't know. I haven't had the time to do thorough research yet, but my videographer recommended him so I think we'll be fine.

Any other recommendations? I'm not too keen on Metrophoto because it's too editorial-ish for me. I would love to hear your thoughts ladies. I only have about 1-2 days to decide. My fiancé knows nothing about photographers so he definitely cannot help me in this. Hehe

caleeice, for me lang ha, if you love black and white photos I think JLR is a really good choice. But definitely go with whichever photographer you love the most -- it's great that you have so many great ones to choose from, even if you had to stress about it so close to your wedding!

Brian of JLR is super nice! He extended their old rates to us when I asked him about the 12hr coverage + parents' albums and told him that GT friends recommended JLR. Hehe.

Pat Dy's assistant just informed us that he will be arriving in PH 4 days before the wedding. It's like the universe is conspiring to make us get him. But with JLR as a new contender in our shortlist, napapaisip ako!

This is going to be a tough decision to make. Thank you everybody for the support, thoughts and suggestions! I really appreciate it! Makes everything easier and less stressful!

Do parents' albums included in the package have the same or a different layout from the main album given to the couple? Am I right in assuming they are just mini versions of the main album? Or can you request those parents' albums to showcase different pictures and layouts?

Caleeice: Hehe don't worry! You have a "good" problem in the sense that you are choosing among some of the country's best phtographers =) I am so happy for you that you have so many good choices given the timeline.
