Another vote for Rex and his WeDoItForLove team We already had our prenup with them when I visited last March. He was so fun and easy to talk to. His style is not too posey-posey, which we really loved, and the unedited pics turned out great - very vibrant. We also didn't hire a stylist na. We just went to a interesting place and brought lots of clothes and props. Si Rex na ang nag-mix and match ng outfits namin. Talk about versatile. Hehe. Also, his rates are very reasonable for the service he renders.

Sis yan din ang opinion ng h2B ko at friends and family namin when i showed them yung work ni Gail. Parang dinadaan daw sa pag brighten, hindi daw maganda

Kanya kanyang gusto lang din sis, because photographers have their own style. Sa dinami dami ng photographers, dapat they have something distinct to offer.. but that doesn't necessarily na hindi maganda coz gail's shots are to fall in love with.. kaya nga madami silang happy clients dito..& im proud to say na im one of them.. what's nice for others might not look as nice for someone else.. which is understandable naman kase we all have different requirements. I'm hoping that you will soon find your official photographers too

Sis meron talagang mga ganyan ang style these days, yung super bright. Among them, Foreveryday, Manny and April and Camzar. Depende sayo, some like it and some don't minsan kasi overkill din nga brightness ng pics. esp Camzar puro yellow.

each photographer has his/her own treatment when it comes to photos and it's up to the preference of the couple kung ano'ng style ang gusto nila. this is actually a great time for soon-to-wed couples dahil napakarami ng magagaling na photographers who can cater to whatever a couple wants.
as sis sparklingjewel mentioned, for light and bright photos, sila ang currently sikat ngayon.
i like the rockin' photographers too dahil parang ang cool nung magkapatid na matias and bata pa sila so may pagka-fresh and quirky sila.
magaling din si rv mitra at classy ang photos nya. highly-reco sya ng isang friend ko who helped coordinate another friend's wedding.
if you don't want na super-tadtad sa edit, ok ang imagine nation.
light pero natural pa din ang dating sina nicolai melicor, ram marcelo, bryan venancio.
if you want high-drama na pang-editorial and you have the budget, then benjie tiongco, pat dy or metrophoto.

This is going to be weird...pero we booked RV for our video! Haha. We liked the work he did for my friend's wedding kasi. He said it wouldn't be an issue to get his team for the SDE while I have another photographer. Anyway, he's super nice and Leo (his marketing manager) replies quickly. His latest SDEs on Vimeo look good (basta it's RV shooting and not team B).

I just found out that our photographer is in the hospital and was advised by his doctors to rest for a week or two. Our wedding is now less than 2 weeks away. We were advised by his staff that he'll be fine during our wedding day. Worst case scenario is that he won't shoot but will nonetheless supervise his photographers.

We've worked with his team during our engagement shoot. They were good, but the head photographer directs their shoots and would check their settings. In view thereof, I'm slightly panicking. I'm thinking of whether to get a back-up photographer. Fiance says there's no need because we were assured that we'll have photographers on the day. However, the reason that I got them was because of the lead photographer. So... Hindi ako mapakali right now.

Which leads to my next dillema. While I'm thinking of getting a back-up photographer, I'm also thinking of budget constraints. I splurged on our P/V teams (I'm the one paying). I got the best teams that I wanted. Getting a photographer of the same caliber as my current photographer has not been factored in the budget.

Would like to get your thoughts on this ladies. Thanks!

Sad to hear that sis. I'm praying that the lead photographer will soon be ok and ready to shoot on your wedding. If hindi ka mapakali, try availing the "service only" package of good photographers na icoconsider mo as second choice. The rate is relatively cheaper than getting a complete package. That way, hindi masyadong masakit sa budget.

caleeice, does your contract cover a situation where the lead photographer is unable to shoot? My contract specifies kasi that if my photographer is unable to shoot it herself, she has to refund my payment or find me a photographer of equal calibre. I think you're right to worry, especially since it sounds like his team is heavily supervised. :/ If he can't guarantee that he'll be there I think they should be helping you find a new lead photographer.

Thank you sis belle! Service only option seems like a good compromise. I will bring this up with the fiance and with my mum.

Sis sevenstars, contract states that in case of circumstances beyond their control, they'll send a substitute photographer with high qualifications, subject of course to our approval. If we don't approve, we can opt to terminate agreement and get a full refund.

His assistant said that they'll update us. I feel restless though because we're less than 2 weeks away and from what we know he underwent kidney treatment.  I don't know if he can recover in time for our wedding.

I really hope that he'll be okay. I'm already frustrated with our engagement shoot because of a terrible make-up mishap, so now I'm praying that wedding photos will still turn out well.

caleeice, in that case get them to tell you now who the substitute would be and have them put it in writing, para you know what your worst case scenario is. A team of supervised assistants is not the same as a substitute lead photographer and I'd personally consider it a breach of contract.

Thank you sevenstars, I agree. I will discuss with the fiance on how to deal with this matter and relay our concerns with them. I'm also trying my best not to strain our relations with our photographer because I'm still hoping he recovers in time.

sis caleeice, who's your MUA on your engagement shoot and why did you say that you had terrible make-up mishap? will he/she also be the one doing your make up on your wedding day?

Sis, my MUA during engagement shoot was my MUA since I was in college. Basta it was really a disaster. Shoot was afternoon outdoors, but my eye makeup was super heavy and my kilay was not pantay. He's never mentioned here so don't worry And no, I already booked another HMUA because of that.

Looks like we're getting a new photographer. I'm now torn between Pat Dy and Nelwin Uy.

Pat Dy
Pros:
- Gorgeous photos. He really brings out that bridal glow!
- He's honestly my top pick.

Cons:
- He's currently in the US and won't arrive until 2 days before our wedding. We're still waiting for confirmation from his assistant. But my family is concerned that baka mabitin kami if he doesn't arrive in time or something unexpected comes up.
- Expensive. I only get 1 album for the package I'm getting. +100k if I wanted the package with more albums. I have not factored that in our budget.

Nelwin Uy
Pros:
- Great photos as well, but haven't done as much research about him yet.
- He's available on our wedding.
- More inclusions in his package for almost the same rate. More albums!!!

Cons:
- I don't know. I haven't had the time to do thorough research yet, but my videographer recommended him so I think we'll be fine.

Any other recommendations? I'm not too keen on Metrophoto because it's too editorial-ish for me. I would love to hear your thoughts ladies. I only have about 1-2 days to decide. My fiancé knows nothing about photographers so he definitely cannot help me in this. Hehe
