sevenstars: I am drooling with thought of hand-calligraphed, letterpressed, die-cut invites! And each one is individually and uniquely watercolored!! Oh myyyyyyyy.... I love all the elements!! I am not a stationery aficionado but then I really appreciate fine printing =) Sigh!!
So happy you got exactly what you wanted! =)

May I ask who your letterpress printer is? Craft Master had a very good rate, but the set comes with only one letterpressed sheet and the rest are off-set printing. I guess I'll have to stick to thermography printing and just make up for it by using double-ply for a thicker card stock.

Thanks, Chili! I hope even a few of my guests will appreciate my invitations as much as you I used a printer here in Singapore, but I considered having twenty o four do them and ship them to me here -- in the end the price difference wasn't too big and the local printer could do them faster.

Have you considered having twenty o four print just the main invitation in letterpress and the rest digitally, but using Lettra for all the pieces? I think the paper itself makes the biggest impact

^Hi sevenstars! I am really tempted to get Twenty O Four. The price isnt that bad. There are also several letterpress printers I can get with promo rates. However, I am still on the fence about it especially since I am trying to save. I will save about 12k - P16k if I stick to thermograph printing. Sis, does letterpress on Crane Lettra paper make a difference VS regular paper stock?

Chili, I designed them myself (I have a professional design background) but I hired a calligrapher to do our names etc. They were letterpress printed and die-cut, and I painted each one individually with watercolour. Like I said, over the top haha. But they're exactly what I wanted!

Oh my god, drop dead gorgeous I am sure. Yours is the kind of wedding fit for wedding blogs and wedding inspirations! Grabe. These days the ones on local blogs aren't so special naman.

Chili, I think Lettra is the best because you get more depth on the impression, but I've seen good results on other papers too. Just make sure the printer shows you a sample printed on the actual paper they're using so you know what you're getting, and maybe see if you can get a sample that's printed on Lettra so you can compare. I've seen din kasi samples where the impression is quite shallow, and I think in those cases it's not worth the money.

Just another suggestion if you want to save -- have you looked into combining flat printing with foil stamping? You could just do foil on a dark paper for your main invitation, lots of wow factor even with a super-minimal design

Hey girls!

Here's a question for you: has anyone here attempted to make their own wedding invites (and by attempt I mean absolutely no experience with it)? If yes, what app did you use? (Sevenstars I know you did your own and imagine how beautiful they would come out to be, but I have absolutely no creative bone in my body haha)

The reason I'm asking is coz the fiance and I decided to categorize suppliers and we considered invitations & stationery as 'throwaway' items (i.e. neither one of us kept any of the wedding invitations we received hehe) Since most of our guests are based all around the globe anyways, we've decided to just send them via email. We also have to make the invitations dual language so that's a special requirement I'm not sure vendors can work with.

Alternately, which invitations suppliers only create the soft copies and leave it to you for printing? How much are their rates?

Here's a question for you: has anyone here attempted to make their own wedding invites (and by attempt I mean absolutely no experience with it)? If yes, what app did you use?

I have twice made wedding invites - for my sister's wedding 2 years ago, and am now doing my own wedding invites. In both instances, I simply used MS Word and Powerpoint I researched looks that I wanted online, downloaded free fonts and images from Google, tinkered around with Word Art and image settings, saved in pdf or jpeg

For my sister's I did a four-flapped envelope, with the upper and lower flap tied together with a pepper-like rope (I don't really know what it's called) that I found in scrapbooking sections in bookstores.

For mine, I'm printing them on vellum board 220 gsm (flat print only, of course) and then using a pearly finish board 220 gsm for a tri-fold cover. On the cover, I pasted a square bit of paper board with our initials on a bit of the same background I used for the main page. It was much easier to make than my sister's because of the simple form.

Hi girls, I need help. I'm filling out our invitation details. My mom and fiance's dad are both lawyers. I've seen some invitations in the past wherein the profession/vocation of their parents/principal sponsors are indicated. Kung lawyer, Atty. ganyan, if a nun, Sr. ganto. We also have lawyers as principal sponsors. Kailangan pa ba yun ilagay or no na? thanks in advance!

My calligrapher is so nice, plus she gave us freebies pa pala! If you don't have a calligrapher yet, she's very reasonably-priced!

Also, have you tried doing your own invites? Parang gusto ko nalang din mag watercolor. Nakukuripot ako sa cost ng invites, and to think some of them actually just leave the invites sa reception or church!

Actually, I did a 6x8 prototype first and then bought envelopes from National Book Store. That's when I realised it wouldn't fit. Good thing my design allows me to splice off a bit from the edges. Now, it's 5.5x7.5

Try checking out wedding invitation websites, too. My favorite is http://www.weddingpaperdivas.com whose designs are copied by many local printers. Of course, I couldn't really copy their designs but I chose one of their watercolour invitations as inspiration for mine

Ladies, question. I was sent a Save the Date via FB a few months ago. And just a few weeks ago, the bride asked for my address so she can send the actual invite. It's now just two weeks til the wedding and I still haven't gotten the actual invitation. Does it mean I'm still invited? Lol. I mean it doesn't matter really, but is that some sort of code for, I changed my mind?  I only ask because for my own wedding I gave invitations to all our guests, and I mailed the invites to those who were too far away. I'm not sure I feel like asking the bride, hey where's my invite? Lol.
