oooooh. Great idea. I really wanted to skip the garter and bouquet toss. My guests will surely run and leave (just as what we always do in most weddings). haha! We don't care if others call us corny, di sport or what, basta we end up leaving the reception right away. Hmm. Perhaps, some of you can suggest an alternative? I'll also ask our coord. :)

-no need na maraming entourage-bridesmaid, flower girls, grooms men. for me lang ha, kasi wala namang silang gagawin.

Hi sis airish_2, I think it will greatly depend sa kind of guests mo. What is the age group, interests, personalities? From there I guess you can start what they will appreciate. Or you can balance it with your and h2b's interests. You can have a musical-filled reception, just dancing and singing the night away OR you request a few friends and/or loved ones to say a few words if that's what you prefer.  :)

Isputniksweetheart, a no-program reception is usually underrated. But I'm glad your "brave" enough to decide on it. Sometimes, the 'silence' of it is much more fulfilling (big factor is if its your personality din) that an activity-packed one.

sis tiffany24, so true. This thread is a good at snapping us back to what's important. ;D

@airwaterfire
same here with the entou. I opted not to have bridesmaids and groomsmen as they don't have any important participation in the ceremony hence cutting down the cost :) I'm thinking of having only 1 little nephew of mine to bear the ring, bible and arrhae. Haha! Problem is, he's only 2 years old and afraid of strangers. o_o

with photo, we only requested for our supplier's service only package too since h2b does photobooks and layout/editing.

Sis airwaterfire, I also want the idea of a sunday's best attire for the secondary sponsors. Im wondering how to apply this with principal sponsors. Parang i love the idea also but don't know how to 'instruct' them or how will that look like. Hehe

I only have 5 principal sponsors. My ninang sa binyag(isa lang ninang ko, lol), 2 officemates and husband and wife uncle and aunt.

Noong nagtanong sila ano isuot, sabi ko lang casual/semi formal or pangsimba. Sinabi ko nalang ano motif ko. Ang aunt and uncle ko hindi nag martsa since hindi sila naka ready, galing pa yata sa Bohol which that time nilindol. (Oct 2013).

Me too. I have 5 principal sponsors. :) I have 3 secondary sponsors and a MOH. Hubby has 3 secondary sponsor and a Bestman. Silang 8 lang ang guest namin na hindi namin kamag anak, mga bestfriends and kababata namin ni hubby. our bearers and FGs, pamangkin namin sa mga kapatid namin, and of course our daughter. :) We are 85 all in all. Nasa 75 yung relatives/family. Yung 8 yung close friends namin, then kami dalawa ni hubby. :)

oohh, thanks sa tip sis airwaterfire. I will copy your instructions. :)

always loved how intimate your wedding is sis smile22!!! that's my dream which I will openly let go (for now). h2b's fam is quite a number (read 10 siblings of his parents per side). don't want to stress myself on trimming the list everyday. HAHA! Not that I will let the whole "tribe" attend the wedding though! So long as that relative is important to h2b, then by all means, they are welcome. :) Just hoping to still limit it to 200 (fingers crossed).

Same here we only have 5 pairs of principal sponsors whom kind of we really sorted out according to our standards ni h2b na mahirap pala gawin. Haha! Standard lang naman namin is that we both know them & they know us too; we can easily talk to them and those who are close to our hearts. We never bothered getting sponsors who we don't personally know and those na "kinuha lang kasi mayaman". Sorry for the term but its the norm kasi dito satin.

Right now our guest list including the entourage is at 80. Our max is at 100. Hoping to meet our target and not to exceed. :)

^sis, happy to know that we have the same criteria in choosing a sponsor. :) Somehow, nakakagaan ng loob na these people will be your "second parents" in its truest sense.

Congrats on keeping up with your targets!

We really want a simple civil wedding in a garden. Intimate lang sana. Although right now it seems impossible. Na sa 150 guests na kami! I'm still trying to be firm na civil wedding pa rin. No bridesmaids, etc just Matron of Honor, Best Man and Peincipal Sponsors. Too much ba if we have 5 pairs? If that's too much, may be we'll just stick to 3 pairs. Same venue as the reception. No program after, just dinner and free flowing drinks. If we can have the wedding itself in my lola's house lang, that would be great so that it we can still have an intimate feel to our wedding. But I really don't know how we can fit 150 people there. 😕

Hi sis trishytrishy. There's no really a hard and fast rule on the number of your wedding party. So long as that's what you and your hubby to be want and all of them are important people to you. Kaya lang naman minsan nagiging impractical, imo, is when hindi mo naman talaga ka close or no personal connection sainyo tapos iaabay or kukuning ninang/ninong dahil lang sa dikta ng iba. Hehe.

On the venue sis, true na if sa house it has a very warm and homey vibe. Consider nalang din sis the comfortability of not only the guests but kayo din after since pag sa house ang venue usually hassle pa sa paglilinis after. But If that won't be a problem, go for it by all means. :)

Thanks sis mindiegirl! I actually thought about it and decided it would be more convenient to hold the reception somewhere else. Baka ma stress lang siya, which I wouldn't want. Pero maganda sana yung parang backyard wedding noh? Like the ones they have abroad.

I feel so overwhelemed! It's quite difficult to plan a wedding. And really impractical to spend a huge amount of money on one day if you ask me. I'm learning a lot from this forum actually. Super helpful 😊

Pero mukhang napag-uusapan namin ni husband-to-be to move it ng January, that is kung papayag pa si church. So we'll see.

ako gusto sana drive yung sarili ko sa chapel and drive me and my will-be-husband sa venue ng reception din. haha kaso parang hindi yata possible iyon.

meron bang mga church na strict when it comes sa damit ng principal/secondary sponsors na dapat ay may motif/uniform/same color etc? Kasi i plan to have all of them wear formal/pang-simba na damit.

Dati pa man napag usapan na namin na mag eat lang together with our invited guests…

*i'm still deciding if i want to have photo coverage (i mean i'm seriously considering na wag kumuha ng photo coverage). naisip ko kasi na ilagay nalang ng mga guest sa memories yung magiging kasal namin.

ask ko lang mga sis, how much ang dapat ibigay sa priest and kailan ba iyon ibinibigay? After the wedding ceremony aabot na yung bayad?

^sis i suggest you get a driver. plan mo ba mag gown pa din though intimate wedding ka? Mahirap kasi kumilos and magdrive if nakagown ka.

Di naman strict ang churches natin to follow your chosen motif. Just make sure that proper & modest  naman ang attire nila.

Ok lang din sis na walang program. Tamang chill and chika lang with your guests :)

No idea sa offerings sis, but mostly ganyan nga, fruits basket.

I suggest naman na you get a photo/video coverage kahit service lang kunin mo sa photo. Kasi sis, yun lang ang actual remembrance nyo na pwede nyong balik balikan ni h2b when the time comes. At the same time, pwede nyo rin pakita sa mga magiging offspring/s nyo.

Not aware of priests' stipend, depende kasi yun sa heart nyo. Mostly na natatanong ko nasa 3k+. Ang alam ko, after the ceremony yun binibigay, lalo na kung di invited si father sa reception.

HTH!
