^^ sis nicoletta, gave birth via CS less than two months ago. I think we paid around P155k for everything, net of Philhealth. HRPU during labor, regular private room for 2 days.

Re rooms: you can do an ocular now before ka manganak. Ok naman naging room ko, malinis and maayos. On the day I was admitted, husband checked na agad the available rooms to reserve. Ayaw kasi namin ng small private room kasi parang wala na kami magalawan since malalaking tao kami ni hubby, hehe.. buti me available na regular private.

How much did you get from PhilHealth?  Which reminds me, I have to ask my mom regarding this so I can be prepared in case my water breaks earlier. 

HRPU is like 4k to 5k compared to the labor ward which is 1k right?  Won't I have my own room since elective CS ako for now?  Breech parin baby so most likely CS na nga unless umikot pa last minute.

Ilang sqm din private room sa QC?  I have yet to see Global, parang more affordable yung rates nila doon and I am a germophobic, so when I see disheveled and haggard looking nurses, I feel like I'm going to have panic attacks.  Pero kidding aside, I have been palpitating so my ob is suggesting din cardiac tests.

^ konti lang bawas sa philhealth, less than 20k lang yata. Not sure sa exact amount kasi si hubby nag-asikaso lahat.

Not sure if elective cs kung san ka maghihintay before your operation. Basta if hrpu, me own room ka, pwede companion. If labor room, no companion.

Re size ng room, iba-iba size. Meron kasi small private, regular private, deluxe private, etc. Nung nag-ocular kami, naliitan kami sa small private so out na agad yun. Yung deluxe naman, di namin feel yung layout ng pinakitang room, parang lalabas singlaki lang sila ng regular private, maluwag lang ng konti toilet ng deluxe. We checked out the premium rooms and the suites din sa other wing (hindi sa maternity) para me other options incase walang regular private upon my admission. Nung ina-admit na ako sa hrpu, husband went to admissions na to reserve a room. Buti me vacant na regular private so yun nakuha namin, at least nasa maternity wing yun.

The nurses and aides we encountered in QC were never haggard-looking naman. Buti na lang din, kasi takot din ako sa hospitals and needles e. But the nurses were relaxed naman, mababait and very patient in answering my questions, esp if me ituturok o ipapainom na gamot or me ina-adjust sa swero or whatever.

I was supposed to stay sa HRPU kaso lang when I was admitted, may maintenance. Walang aircon sa HRPU so they let me stay na lang sa Recovery Room. Ako lang mag-isa doon walang ibang patient.

Sis bagaholic, sabi naman ng ob ko yung tumataas daw yung rates ng cotton balls, diapers etc pero yung pf niya/nila same parin d-a-w regardless of the room.

Sa next baby ko dapat sa st lukes ako ulit or sa states nalang kasi parang world war ako mag labor. I was induced kasi so inaaway ko lahat ng residente and nurse sa hrpu kasi ayaw nila ako bigyan ng epidural at 3cm. Pati ob ko and anes inaaway ko. Hahaha fairness to them they handled me well. I was even dictating them about what to do, i even rejected a few IE's. Ako na ang doctor. Lol

Medyo tiring lang kasi aside from doctors and nurses checking on you and your baby ang daming gimik ng st lukes. Like lactation advocates who goes room per room to encourage you to breastfeed, free picture with cd kay baby etc. Ang daming pasok ng pasok sa room.

Mga sis sino recommended OB nyo na di naman masyado mataas ang PF pero ok naman? Uuwi ako pinas kapag 7months na ako and planning to give birth sa St. Luke's Global. I don't have any HMO pero I have philhealth and sss. If meron kayo copy ng mga package ng SLMC pa-post naman mga sis, thank you! 

Sis if you're having your second child, pwede mo ma-avail ang save package ng SLMC whether Global or QC. P65k for a 2-bed standard ward or P60k for a 4-bed ward. All-in na yun. That's what I'm getting at SLMC-QC.

nasa around 91k ang nagastos namin, NSD. We stayed there for 3 days ata.
Inital deposit was 10k
PF ng OB ko 25k
PF ng anesthesiologist 12k
PF ng pedia is 5k

The rest, hospital fees na.
around 6k lang ata ang na-less ng Philhealth.

I was admitted 4pm, 4cms dilated na ko.
Sa HRPU ako para pwede ko kasama si hubby during labor, at 5cms nagpa-epidural na ko kasi di ko na kaya pain. Naghypotension pa ko after epidural so medyo nagpanic ako pero magaling anes ko and yung mga doctors and nurses super nakabantay at nakatutok sakin kaya nakakakampante rin. and then after a while di ko na naramdaman, dire-diretso na hanggang sa they broke na my water bag, tapos nanganak ako 10:55pm.

Halos wala kong naramdamang pain sa panganganak, except sa konting sakit because dinaganan nila tyan ko to help me push the baby out. They brought me to the recovery room with my baby and we stayed there for two hours to check if okay kaming dalawa. then lipat na ko sa small private na room.

May pa-balloons and pa-picture with cd of baby music pa sila. and may mga lactation nurses and breastfeeding advocates na umiikot once in a while sa room. meron ding mga nagchecheck if you need anything or if satisfied ba service ng SLMC. So ramdam na ramdam ko naman na asikaso nila ko. Yun nga lang, after ko madischarge, na-admit ako ulit due to post-pregnancy anemia and gestational hypertension. but that's another story.

I must say, okay talaga sa SLMC. Sulit naman ang bayad sa klase ng service na binibigay nila.

Sis bagaholic ilang hours ka ng labor before you ended in cs? Yung pf ng anes 40% Ng pf ng ob.

^ 12hrs ako nag-stay sa hrpu.. in my case, 46+% ng pf ni ob si anes.. oh well..

Question sa mga sis na nanganak na sa SLMC. Nagdala ba kayo ng sarili niyong thermometer? if yes, anong thermometer ba yung dapat? Kasi may digital sa ear, meron din para sa ear na ginagamitan ng lens. Ano daw ba ang dapat? Thanks!

Sa mga nag-NSD sa SLMC-QC, may I please ask kung paano ang naging birthing position nyo? According to my OB, nakaupo e. Kung ganun nga, mas gusto ko para madali lang makapanganak. Kaysa sa nakahiga. Sa firstborn ko sa ibang hospital several years ago, halos nakahiga so nahirapan ako mag-push.

Yung sa amin, nakalimutan ibigay ni hubby yung mga things ni baby kaya in-issue-han kami ng digital thermometer. Mura lang naman pero yun nga, 3 na tuloy thermometer namin, hehe..

Ibig sabihin kapag hindi ako nakapagdala ng ear thermometer ko at ng isa pang thermometer ni baby, i-issuehan kami ng dalawang thermometer? hehe. Gano ba kalaki difference ng price nila?

Sa ear thermometer they only charge you for the ear cover. Kasi hindi mo naman iuuwi yung ear thermometer. For the armpit thermometer of baby which you can bring home kasi they will charge you for it.

Tama si sis vain_kixie, yung digital thermometer lang ni baby ang machacharge. Kasi me protective cover naman yung ear thermometer, so yung cover lang machachargr for mommy. Meron na kasi ako 2 digital thermometer for baby na nabili (1 for baby bag, 1 for bahay), plus yung sa hospital kaya naging 3.

Regarding birth position, usually daw nakahiga. But the mommy may opt for the semi-recline position if it helps her to push more. Yan sabi ng OB ko nun sa akin when I asked. Di pa kasi namin alam nun na masi-cs pala ako at the last minute.
