hermione28: The church you are getting married in will be the one to prepare the marrige banns for you and groom, and also permission of the parish for the bride.

All you have to do is give the banns and permission forms  to your parish and sila na bahala to post that for 3 weeks, and after you just need to go back to get the signed permission and banns forms. It is really easy. Ako nga pinadala ko lang to my parish all the forms prepared by the church I will be marrying in. No need to go persoonally, iiwan lang naman doon.

To be honest all the requirements are really easy naman as long as you know when and where you were confirmed and baptised. I just also sent someone to get my confirmation and baptismal for me heheh. Yung pinaka hassle of all is getting the marriage license, because well, as you may know, in the Philippines anything that involves local government offices are really a hassle with the lines, requirements and all.

If neighbor kame ni Groom meaning same parish kame diba?

I'm an SSJ bride. so ganito, from SSJ kukunin ko yung Marriage Banns form ba yun? Tapos dadalhin sa Parish namen ni groom to be posted for 3 weeks.

Di kailangang kame gagawa diba? pwede ibang tao?
Can my wedding coordinator do this?

Got my confirmation certificate na! Mali pa spelling ng last name ko nung una kaya hindi nila mahanap, pero buti nalang may kakilala sa loob ng simbahan so naayos kaagad and na-print agad. Yung baptismal cert naman ni H2B mali spelling ng name ng Mom niya tapos wala pang last name. Kaya pinapagawa siya ng affidavit of discrepancy para daw mabago yung name. Nakakainis lang kasi dapat pwede nang birth cert nalang ang ipresent dun kasi to think sila naman ang may kasalanan kung bakit mali-mali yung name dun! Oh well.

Next stop namin ay yung confirmation cert ni H2B sa Malate Church at yung baptismal cert ko sa Nuestra Sra del Perpetua Socorro sa Sampaloc Manila.

Ang question ko is, kaya bang irequest and makuha agad yung certificates on the same day? Yung confirmation cert ko kasi nakuha namin agad kasi nga may kakilala sa loob ng simbahan tapos yung kay H2B since may mali sa spelling kaya binigyan siya ng print out para makapagpagawa ng affidavit. E yung mga susunod na churches kasi na pupuntahan namin medyo malayo na so iniisip ko kung anong araw at oras ba dapat namin kunin para makuha din agad yung cert. Dapat ba weekdays lang?

^Better if you call the church admin ahead of time to ask. I think you also need an NSO birth certificate. Kasi some churches hindi everyday may office so baka masayang yung punta niyo.

Also, no need to personally go, kasi yung akin iba yung pumunta to get my baptismal and confirmation =) =) I just sent an authorization letter, but they didn't even look at it.

Pre cana po namen sa March 18, wedding on July 25. Masyado bang maaga? Valid for 6 months naman po ang pre-cana diba?

I think we had ours 3 months before the wedding so 4 months seems okay. But it's still best for you to confirm with your church sis. Different churches have varying rules & requirements eh.

Some cities/municipalities accept pre-cana as replacement for the required family planning seminars. So better check where you'll be getting your license.

To save yourself the time and effort to secure the documents, I'd recommend to get two sets of birth cert and cenomar because some churches also require the original. In our case, my husband had to request a new set. Ang kulit kasi niya he only got 1 hehe

^you can confirm it to your church. some like my church are accepting photocopy of NSO Birth Certificate and Cenomar. Tapos yung pre cana din, tinatanggap daw ng munisipyo.

^from what I remember, iyong birth cert dpt within 6 months validity pero walang "for marriage purpose only" na remarks, ang alam kong ma ganung remarks is iyong baptismal cert mo na kukuhanin mo sa church kung saan ka baptized.

Hi sissies helfF! Calling Our lady of Lourdes-Tagaytay brides... paano nyo sinimulan ang mahabang list ng church requirements? I dunno saan ako mag uumpisa. 6 months validity most of the documents. My wedding will be on Oct 29, uuwi kame ni h2b ng July for church requirements, other preps pa at prenup sana... we're both in Abu dhabi by the way. TIA po sa mga makakatulong sakin

Pwede namang coordinator mo na gumawa nito, just provide an authorisation letter that they can bring with them. Also, the parish might ask for a processing fee. This may vary depending on the parish - although sabi ng mom ko, technically, you shouldn't have to pay to get married. I just thought, the employees of the parish office need to get paid, so...

Hi sis! Akala ko din kailangan ng 2 birth certificate at cenomar. In our case, original copies nila ang sinubmit sa city hall. Then we were issued with marriage licence. So kumuha ako ulit new birth and cenomar. Pagpasa sa church. Original copies lang ng baptismal at confirmation certificates ang kinuha. Ni hindi nga tiningnan man lang birth cert at cenomar.

So better confirm with your church. Kasi ang mahal din ng NSO certificates. Ako naman kasi di nagbabasa mabuti. Wala naman nakasukat sa list of requirements ng church ang birth certificate at cenomar. Inassume ko lang.

^same with you ganyan lang din hiningi sa church namin. tapos yung sa seminar di kami umattend nanghigi lang kami ng certificate sa health center (sinabi ng friend ko sakin to sakto may kakilala nanay ko) kaya di na kami umattend ng seminar. naalala ko pala nagbayad kami ng 500 for MC pero pumila kami mahigit 2hours kasi may mga nakasabay kami nagbayad ng amilyar. waaah! super hassle para sa 500 pesos!

Best to check the requirements with the your local civil registry kung ano ang mga requirements nila. They usually post it online if your local government has a website, if not, you can call or drop by and get their flyer (they have one ready).

For ML, they will always ask for NSO birth certificate. This has no expiry as long as it's printed on the security paper.

For the church requirements, it depends on the church.

In our case, we got married in Santuario de San Jose and they didn't ask for it. HOWEVER, they did require a marriage license. When we filed for it in the municipal hall, we submitted all the docs including the NSO birth certificate. They compiled all the docs and returned it to us after issuing the ML. They said to submit everything to the church. And so we did. We went back to the church and submitted the ML with all the attached docs. I think they returned the birth certificate to us but kept the rest of the attachments.

I suggest you divide the list into 2, one for marriage license (because this has a list of requirements all its own) and one for the "exclusive to church" stuff only. Then, pursue both separately.

A lot of the ML requirements have an expiry date, starting 6 months backwards from your wedding date. I suggest you start doing your research first and start planning the timing.

For the "exclusive to church" stuff, start with the baptismal and confirmation certificates (but take note, these also have an expiry date so schedule everything accordingly), then the pre-cana. The reason being is that it sometimes happens that your records are not quite accurate, lost, or nonexistent. If so, then you need to fix them asap since they are the most important docs for your church wedding. As for the pre-cana, scheduling it can be quite tricky/exasperating if you're overseas. Some churches allow you to take it in a different church, some require you to take it in the church where you're planning to wed, some take 2 weekends, some take half a day, some won't accept pre-cana that only takes half a day. If you have extra money and no time to spare, go for CANA conducted by CEFAM to set your own schedule. It only takes one day, and you can do it on a weekday.

I suggest also that you first start by doing your research well. I'm pretty certain that most government units in Metro Manila already have a website. From there, you can check out the requirements for ML or at least find the contact number for the local civil registry office. If you can't find the info that you need online, start making calls - to your parishes, your wedding church, your local civil registry office, etc.

I asked my cousin to request for my Baptismal certificate. Mali yung birthday na nakalagay, yun daw ang nasa record ng church. Paano po gagawin don?

Try asking the church what can be done. Most likely, you'd be asked to submit an affidavit stating that both children are one and the same. You might also need to go through the diocese to do this. Basta tanong lang ng tanong
