Does anyone know how long it takes to get the NSO copy of the MARRIAGE CERT. after the wedding?

I am about to book tickets for my honeymoon and I do not know if I should use my maiden name or married name. I cannot modify the tickets after purchase since this is a promo rate.

My passport is expiring a little before I get married so technically I should be applying for the new passport under my married name. Problem is I do not know if aabot the NSO copy by the time I need to apply for my passport and visa.

Hey Chili, I'm planning to have my passport renewed with my married name. Same issue - we only filed last November 9 and my appointment is this coming February 12. I think you can bring the original copy of your marriage contract and a photocopy nalang.

Kung tama yung naalala ko sa wedding ng sis ko, Kay chancery office mo talaga isusubmit yung documents including Birth Certificate, CENOMAR and all, then after all the documents bibigyan ka na nay ng clearance which you will submit sa church.

Actually yan din ang explanation na sinabi sakin ng OFW friend ko who got married last year sa QC. Ang sabi lang sakin ng Caleruega yung pre-cana and freedom to marry certificate pwede namin ma acquire sa parish kung san kami nakatira as of now.

^ that's what sis Rowan is saying, it might be different per chancery office.
Kung sa Caleruega ang requirements lang is to submit the Pre-Cana and Freedom to marry certificate along with Birth Certificate and Cenomar edi ayos ang dali naman non.

I suggest  nalang finish all the documents earlier like 3 months before para kung bigla kayong isend sa chancery office ng Batangas/Tagaytay, may time pa kayo.


sis Chili1113, use your maiden name sa ticket. Even if you able to use your married name sa new passport mo, then yung ticket mo sa Maiden name, ikaw pa din naman yon. Haha.  hindi naman ibang tao. Just bring your old passport and/or any gov't issued ID na maiden name mo pa and Marriage Certificate kahit hindi pa NSO.

Ok lang yan sis, don't worry.

Even I, booked a ticket na sa Cebu Pacific to SG  on July, using my Maiden Name, then we plan kasi to have civil wedding on Feb, August expiration ng passport ko, so mga April mag rerenew na ko ng passport using my Married name na syempre.

Flight ko to SG July, Maiden name pa. Di pwedeng hindi nila ko pasakayin, magwawala ako. haha.
I'll just bring my old passport and some gov't issued ID and copy ng Marriage contract.

Thanks sis meixin!! Just called NSO helpline and it all depends how fast the city forwards it to NSO. Usually 1-2 months. Yikes... I don't want to risk it. Ill book nalang using my maiden name.

Baka may kilala kayong priest na nag-aaccomodate ng weddings outside the Church? Or meron pa ba? [Bakit pag artista pwede? Bakit pag normal na mamamayan hindi na pwede? CHAROT. #hugot]

The Church doesn't allow this, except in exceptional circumstances that the Bishop of your diocese will approve. Unfortunately, I don't think your family's refusal to step foot into a church will be a good enough reason for the Bishop.

An option you may want to consider is to have a sacrament itself  celebrated inside the church with just you, the priest, and the requires number of witnesses. You can then have a priest say Mass in honor of your wedding at your reception venue later on.

Sis no. I am also an overseas bride. My husband is a US Citizen. We are having our church wedding this June in San Antonio de Padua in Cavite. We  already had our civil wedding in LA June of last year. We asked those same questions. We even asked kung kailangan pa namin ng Cenomar and such. If your single sis, ang point ko lang is Iba iba ang requirements per church. Sinabihan na din kami, hindi na namin kailangan ng cenomar kasi kasal na kami.  May nabasa ako dito na kailangan pa din daw even if married na kayo. So basically, iba iba ang requiremwnts kada parish.

May nabasa din ako na kailangan eh 2 weeks prior sa wedding eh dapat nasa Pilipinas na yung couple, again it depends sa parish kung saan kayo magpapakasal. My husband will only be arriving 9 days prior to our wedding day, mauuna ako. Aside from the other documents needed for a Catholic wedding, ang kailangan lang naman daw namin eh magkaron ng canonical interview. They told us na pwedi kaming kumuha ng precana seminar elsewhere kaya kukunin na namin dito sa LA. Even the freedom to marry. We don't need it anymore kasi kasal na kami.

Better to ask the parish kung saan kayo magpapakasal regarding all the documents needed and take note kung sino nakausap nyo. Submit your requirements a few months ahead sa parish nyo. Para pag may aberya pwedi pang maayos. Good luck to all.

Mga sis, question lang baka may nakaka alam sa inyo.

Just got my Marriage Certificate, kaso mali yung nakasulat na birthdate ni hubby. I'm sure ith all the docs and na-fill out-an ko dun sa Civil Registry Office ay tama naman.
I contacted the church sa Baler yung nakikipag coordinate dun sa munisipyo, pero tawagan na lang daw nya ako. I can't wait kasi malaman ano kaya ang steps na gagawin ko para ma correct yun?

Medyo minamadali na ako sa office to change names sa lahat ng gov't related na dapat ma update like SSS, BIR, etc.

Hay, isang number lang nagkamali pa

Thanks sis. Went to a church sa town namin and learned that don ka dapat sa parish kung san ka nakatira mag-inquire. we went to our parish ng weekend but walang tao.

22months pa naman ang wedding pero feeling ko kailangan ko ng ayusin yung sa religion ko.

Palazzo Verde ang chapel ko and sabi nila from Paranaque daw ang priest nila.

Sa palagay nyo ba kahit hindi na kami mag civil wedding here sa Italy at diyan nalang sa chapel ng Palazzo Verde ang wedding namin. O kailangan talaga na magcivil wedding pa kami?
Kasi naisip namin kapag nag civil wedding pa kami dito magagastusan pa kami sa pakain ng guest/ninang/ninong etc..dagdag gastos pa

Let me know mga sis kung ok na kahit church na mismo ang kasal if valid pa rin yun and kung ano mga requirements
Dito rin ako binaptize and dito din pinanganak pero Filipino citizen parin ako
Si Fiance namin sa Pinas pinanganak and binaptize.

Ask ko na din mga sis kung gano katagal ang seminar at kung pwede irequest na hindi kami sa Paranque magseminar hindi kasi kami taga Manila. From Mindoro Province talaga ako kaya mas prefer namin kung sa Mindoro na kami mag seminar para hindi kami pabalik balik ng Paranaque.

ah sis akala ko kasi dapat by law muna para mavalid kaya inisip namin mag civil dito abroad tapos church sa Pinas. Pero pwede naman pala kahit  church nalang.

Then regarding the seminar. Yes yun na nga kasi di ba need yung seminar sa pari para ikasal sa church ?
Kasi sabi sa amin na yung pari magkakasal sa amin ay from Paranaque dahil sa Palazzo Verde/Fernbrook Gardens ang venue namin kaya inisip ko na baka dapat dun lang kami pwede magseminar sa pari na magkakasal sa amin.
Pero kung ok lang na sa church ng Mindoro kami umattend ng seminar much better para hindi kami mahirapan sa pagluwas

Hi sis we have almost the same situation yun nga lang si groom ang taga italy. sa italy din siya born and baptized . Kahit deretso church na kayo sis diyan palang get your baptismal certificate na  na may naka indicate na "for marriage purpose" and free to marry na form from diocese of rome or kung saan ka man naroon.

Kaso sandamakmak na problema ang nangyari sa amin ni groom, groom decided to leave italy and stay here in the Philippines for good. sinurrender niya na ang soggiorno niya sa embassy. The church there in Rome ayaw magrelease ng another copy of his baptismal certificate wala daw ganun ganun doon na may "for marriage purpose", so we need to pass the original talaga doon sa church namin at ilalakad pa raw nila sa diocese of laguna for approval.

second, doon naman sa free to marry niya dapat daw residente ng italy kaso ang problem wala na siya sa italy and if kukuha daw ng marriage ban sa embassy dapat naman personal appearance. which we cannot do because wala na siya sorggiono at hindi na makakalipad sa italy

Thats why sis tip ko lang alamin mo yung requirements ng church na gusto niyo then habang nasa italy kapa asikasuhin mo na para paguwi mo hindi na hassle. As for the seminar ang alam ko dapat dun sa parish na papakasalan niyo dapat kayo aattend even the interview.

Hi sis! If ako lang ang ofw then my soon to be husband is in the philippines? Do we need this? Nagsubmit na ako sa church namin last uwi ko ng february and they didnt ask anything from me naman. Nagdoubt tuloy ako. May na ang wedding namin.
