My baby is about 1 week old and I am starting to have more milk.  Since latching is a little uncomfortable for me, I want to bottle feed in between to rest my nipples.

Super helpful ng Medele Freestyle Pump.  When I didn't have my nursing bra yet, I just cut out a cheapipay bra and was able to use na the pump.  Imagine being able to multi task and able to pump to the max.  At 1 week, I can make 3.5 oz na in 1 sitting.

Those with medela pumps. How often do you wash and sanitize the tubings? Its just so tedious to dry out the water afterwards, nakakatamad tuloy.

I have a manual medela too, hubby accidentally sat on it. Sira na. Toinks. Buti nalang libre.

^ I don't wash the tubing. And yun din ang sabi sa akin sa Medela House. Just wash the parts that come in direct contact with the milk. The tubing, no need, kasi air lang naman dumadaan dun..

I'm gonna order a Spectra manual breast pump na. Do I need to sterilize it pa ba? If yes, i can use the bottle sterilizer, right?

Pag sinisipag, after every pump.  It's less painful to pump, and I get more milk with the freestyle medela.  If I'm being tamad, I put the breastshield in the coleman para malamig lang and hindi pa macontaminate yung milk.

I think I will go with the Swing Maxi, especially as there's not much of a difference in terms of performance with the Freestyle. My officemate bought rechargeable batteries on her own and works fine.

What replacement items should I keep on stock? Once I give birth I will be staying with my in-laws and basically won't be let out for a month, so I want to be prepared for anything I might need.

Going to order additional bottles from amazon for collecting of BM.

khriseeee - sis buy the extra spareparts, most especially the membranes.

Mga sis with Medela pumps napansin ko kasi yung tubing ko after every pump may moist lagi yung tubing kaya ginagawa ko after pumping, hinahayaan ko lang naka on yun pump. ganun din ba sa inyo? May isang gamit kasi ako na pump sa bahay yung spectra dew, pero di naman nag mo moist yung tubing nya.

^ sis, baka hindi totally dry yung pinagkakabitan ng tubing (I don't know ano tawag, basta yung me membrane, etc; kung san kinakabit ang shield). Napapansin ko din kasi yan pag di masyado napatuyo. Moist ang dulo ng tubing, pero di naman pumapasok sa mismong pipe...

I am using a Medela Freestyle for my baby. Super daling gamitin and super sulit. My life saver since nahihirapan maglatch si baby sa akin so pump lang ako every afTer 3-4 hrs. 😊

I include Farlin manual breast pump sa gift registry ko. I am still thinking if worth it ba talaga akong mag invest sa Medela freestyle. And mas mura kasi sa US - i can save up to 6k sana kesa dito ako bumili.

Sis it's too early for you to pump. Actually di talaga recommended mag pump before 6 weeks (unless special cases like nasa NICU ang baby) kasi at this time nag eestablish pa lang ang supply mo. Pumping MAY lead to oversupply and mastitis. And mastitis is not funny. I have experienced oversupply at around 4-10 days after giving birth and super sakit na sya as in masakit talaga. At hindi pa mastitis yun. Mastitis is a lot worse may fever pang kasama. Nung nagka oversupply ako I has no choice but to pump some (para mabawasan lang) and nakaka 3 oz ako bawas lang yun para lang mawala ang sakit. Di ko inuubos. Kase pag inubos ko yung milk, mag pproduce ang breast ng mas marami pang milk gosh. Those days.

Recommended ang direct latch para ma practice si baby. If you're in pain, there must be something wrong with the latch kase nursing should not be painful. That's the one you need to fix. Pero this is just an unsolicited advice, if you still choose to bottle feed, it's up to you. Kase di ko rin naman alam kung gano talaga kahirap pag sore ang nipples. Di ko kasi na experience. And by the way sis, 1 week is way too early din to introduce the bottle. Might cause nipple confusion. Yung sa iba kase na confuse, ayaw na mag direct latch. I introduced bottle at around 6 weeks din nung na feel ko na established na ang direct feeding namin. Pero mga once a day lang. I really started pumping nung mga 2 days bago ako bumalik sa work. Until now okay naman, bottle sa umaga direct sa gabi. Pag masyado naman matagal i introduce ang bottle, malaki na chance na tanggihan na nila yun. 6-8 weeks daw ang best time.

Yes sis, they have that sa Medela House. If tama pagkaaalala ko, around php2500 sya.

^^i had oversupply too and had fever. I thought may infection ako and then my OB told me to pump my milk. Nawala naman fever. I had to pump 2 days after giving birth bec my daughter stayed at NICU.

Hello, has anyone tried using Unimom manual breast pump? I wanna try a manual muna before getting the electric types. Also, I'm a bit hesitant to purchase the electric types kasi I read marami masyado needed to be cleaned, we don't have a helper kasi just me and hubby so I don't really have anyone to help me.
