stay away from people na puro reklamo at pangungutya lang ang alam sabihin, yung tipong halos wala ka nang maririnig na positibo galing sa kanila... tsaka ewan ko lang if this will help you pero get as much alone time as possible para lang marelax ang isip mo

This is why you need to encounter "adversities" to serve as a wake-up call; for character-building.

Kailangan talaga may "pinanghuhugutan" -- based from some (painful) experience. Di ba sabi sa Bible, "consider it pure joy, my brothers and sisters, whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith produces perseverance."

Pero ika nga, experience is the Best teacher. Why not try subjecting yourself to "uncomfortable" situations? -p

i'm also quite negative person. but that's because of what i had been through. i lost trust in people and in authority. i always see people as "user" or unfair. but sometimes i feel that no one is suffering more than i do when i feel that way, so now i try to see the light in every situation. i don't frown that much or think of much negative thoughts coz I will only look older.

Go out, explore the world. Experience other cultures and try to live their way of life. I often find travelers to be very open-minded, relaxed and have very balanced outlook in life.

Handle problems and solve them instead of piling these up. Nothing is solved by doing nothing at all.

Think positively. Avoid situations where you might run yourself into negativity (that is, fights, or even petty arguments). For example, I've often encountered people arguing with the driver because of change that was not given right away. I avoid that kind of trouble by simply having a lot of smaller bills and plenty of loose change in my pocket and also knowing how much exactly to pay. It's like doing "defensive driving" at all.

Sometimes working for someone develops character (as long as you have a great boss). Kasi you are driven to do stuff to satisfy performance ratings. But managing own business or being in freelancing also develops character too and understanding of the things usually ignored when still working at the office. As long as you are doing something for profit or not, you are certainly developing character. "An empty mind is the devil's workshop."

If you do have a religion, try to seek answers there. You might be surprised that there could be.

There are really people thrives well in negativity. Avoid them. Their negativity can be contagious.

Defining moment yun for me. Magandang opportunity yun to improve your character. Either mag crack ka under pressure or you get creative.

@pinklilac, that's exactly what I had in mind.  Na if we have been through tough times, and nalampasan natin un, that will build strength of character.  This is something money can't buy, kaya I'm thankful when I think of the things I have went through when I was younger, years of frugality when others can afford so much more, and the constant bullying built my character and made me the person I am today.  :'(  Pure joy!  ;D :D

Sana people would still check themselves aim for character building.

"You have two ears and one mouth."

There are times na pag may problema ang isang tao, we don't necessarily need to shove down advices sa throat nila. Or wagas maka sermon at kung [textspeak!] ano pang pagmamarunong, pang ju judge (directly or indirectly).

learn from your mistakes, be happy, be a blessing to others, don't sweat the small stuff, learn to forgive, pray for guidance.

Sometimes it's hard lang to forgive and forget the people who have made life difficult for us nh?  I remember being bullied in elementary, and my friend reminded me how blessed i am now kasi dati they  called me names for no reason just because I walked pass them in the hall.

I can't even imagine (though this was what i used to do to get by the years of bullying. i always imagine i will be "somebody" one day) that I would reach this point in my life and that I can do almost anything I want, and buy almost anything my heart desires.  I really pray and thank God for turning my life around and hope that I can help others one day to believe that life will get better if you trust in God. Of course you have to work also, so God can help you.

Always think positive.

--Agree with you. Optimism is everything. It's a matter of perspective, hey say. Hope lang I can always apply this in all situations.
