@sashikatkat - With our case kasi, we just went for sunrise viewing together with our tuktuk driver. And then went back to Bou Savy for quick breakfast tapos saka pa lang namin na meet si Chenla Mao and thats the start of our day tour inside Angkor Complex. But if you plan to stay and start your tour after sunrise viewing dapat kasama na ang tour guide and I think that will be included na dun sa 25USD rate/day nila.

Sis tinanong ko yan sa Hotel kung saan ako nakabook. Ganyan din kasi yung time ng arrival namin sa SR via Cebu Pac. Actually, ok lang daw na doon na magpabook for Guide and tuktuk for the following day na tour para step by step ay madiscuss mo sa receptionist yung temples na gusto mong puntahan.

@a.k.a. HELGA - Thanks sa reply sis. Ganyan nga yung plan na gawin namin. May additional 5USD if isasama pa namin si tour guide sa Sunrise. Pagbalik na lang namin sya imemeet right after breakfast sa hotel.

Isang masa-suggest ko na malapit sa Pub Street is Haven Restaurant, it's a training restaurant supporting young adult Cambodian na orphans.. masarap and reasonably-priced din ang food. Better to reserve in advance kasi madalas napupuno din sila.. small lang kasi ang place. Me website sila, you can reserve dun. Or like in our case, we asked the hotel to reserve for us.

We also tried sa Pub Street yung Cambodian/Khmer barbecue. Yung kinuha naming set me kasamang crocodile meat.

sisses, pag nagrent ng tuktuk for the whole day na yun di ba? kung pupunta kame sa angkor [textspeak!] for sunrise at babalik sa guesthouse for breakfast, allowed ba yun sa tuktuk? meron din ba kayo alam kung saan pwede kumain dun ng lunch? based sa map magkakalayo yung temples, from 1 temple to another babalik-balik kame sa tuktuk tama ba? we plan to rent a bike, saan temple lang allowed ang bike kung meron man restriction?

^ yes sis, whole day nyo ire-rent yung tuktuk. Naga-add lang yata sila minimal amount if from sunrise. Ok lang na from sunrise, balik muna sa hotel for breakfast, payag ang driver dun.

As for lunch, madami na kainan (mala-carinderia) sa may labas lang ng angkor w.at, dun usually dinadala ng mga drivers ang tourists for lunch. though kami, we rented a car and we asked our driver to take us to a specific restaurant (Mie Cafe), which is outside the angkor complex, ok lang naman sa kanila.

As for bikes, I guess you can use the bikes to move from one temple to another. Pero to tour the temples itself, lakad lang talaga.. you have to park the bike outside. I think, it's either you rent a tuktuk or you rent a bike to get around.

Nov 21-26 yung trip, pero side trip kami ng bangkok. So nasa siem reap kami ng 24-26 lang. Yung so bou savvy hindi kasama yung sunrise sa package nila. Pero nung naginquire ako additional 2usd lang per tuktuk.

^^bagaholic_chewy, thanks sa pagsagot! anong meron special sa Mie Cafe? 8 kasi kame, maghire kame ng tuktuk pero kame ni hubby gusto din namin magbike. kung hindi pwede ipasok yung bike saan sya pwede iwan? nabasa ko sa isang blog na nagkakawalaan yung tuktuk sa dami ng sasakyan dun, hindi kaya mawala din yung bike pag iniwan namin sa labas ng temple?

mas marami ata makikita sa SR kesa sa HCMC? yup, hotel + tour na yung kinuha namin sa bou savy. Marami sa mga GT members ang nagtry na dun eh.

^^ oh, 8 pala kayo so 2 tuktuk kayo at least. Ayaw nyo iconsider 1 aircon van para sama-sama kayo? I think your hotel can arrange for that. Suggestion lang naman.

I think di naman magkakawalaan ng tuktuk kasi me driver naman maiiwan. Tandaan nyo lang mukha ng driver and agree kayo san magmi-meet and around what time. Yan din advantage ng may guide kasi sila na nag-uusap nung driver kung pano arrangements. Sa Mie Cafe, hmm Cambodian food din, mala-house yung setting nya. Sa baba yung resto. Masarap ang food and mura na din for its type. Gusto kasi namin maayos na kainan. Hehe.. as for bikes, I guess you can use bike locks to secure them.

^naisip din namin magvan sis kaso parang 10 USD din difference sa 2 tuktuk. Pero we will decide palang naman kung tuktuk o van. Mas ok lang din talaga ang experience ng tuktuk hehe.

Kukuha din kame guide para di magkawalaan! Idagdag ko sa list namin yung Mie Cafe. First night namin wala kame gagawin kundi magdinner lang!

^ sis, Mie Cafe is not really centrally located ha (sasadyain talaga to) and baka mahirapan kayo hanapin sa gabi.. I would suggest have dinner na lang sa Haven Restaurant, para malapit sa Pub Street, pwede pa kayo mag-stroll or magpa-massage after dinner. Me website sila, you can check it out. Better to reserve kasi small lang ang place and medyo madami kayo.

As for tuktuk ride, you can do that naman anytime, like on your first night, pauwi ng hotel nyo after dinner. Or on the following nights. Depends on where your hotel is, siguro nasa $2-$3 lang per tuktuk to/from Pub Street.. Also, IMO, comfy for whole day touring ang tuktuk kung 2-3pax lang. 4pax ang normal capacity, pero feeling ko sakto lang for 2-3pax para nakakapag-stretch ng paa, etc. So for $10 difference, I'd gladly choose the airconditioned van tapos sama-sama pa along with the guide, primarily for comfort and convenience. But that's just me. tantyahin nyo na lang whatever will better suit your travel style.

^^ sis if di kayo maselan, nagkalat massage spots sa may area ng Pub Street. Merong by the road (foot massage, fish spa), meron ding me aircon sa loob and talagang spa ambiance. And if madami kayo, you can haggle the price, bawasan mo siguro kahit tig $1-$2 per person for a 1-hr session (if $7 tawaran mo to $5, if $5 tawaran mo to $4), most likely ibibigay nila yan if madami. Lakad-lakad lang kayo sa area.

Or pwede ring sa hotel nyo, for sure me massage service or di kaya e me mismong spa sila.

^ when we were there nung July, sobrang init tapos minsan uulan. Kaya airconditioned car ni-rent namin, mas comfy.. nag-tuktuk lang kami minsan pag pauwi from Pub Street tsaka nung papuntang airport (for a change lang, hehe). mas comfy naman ang tuktuk kesa sa tricycle, hehe.. fun din actually sumakay ng tuktuk.
