To all girlies : How would you say if someone is SOSYAL in the way she carries herself or the way she dresses, etc.  ;D

I think yung mga kahit simple lang suot, not flaunting the brand pero neat and proper tingnan. And maayos yung posture.

I agree. Kahit di mamahalin lahat okay lang, as long as maayos ang sarili. White shirt and shorts nga at magandang bag lang for me okay na as long as maayos yung kabuuan lalo na the way magapproach ng tao at the way magsalita, hindi kailangan ng arte. For me just being natural is sosyal :)

Yung aura ni maricar reyes, for me lang yun ha.

The way I understand HOW  the word is USED NOWADAYS:

SOSYAL  --  looks rich; gives the impression wearer/user is rich -- whether true or not; whether pricey or not the item/s.
IMO, it is not connected to wealth/education/good taste/confidence.    May "sosyal"  pero not in good taste kasi inappropriate to the occasion/place.

GOOD BREEDING --  IMO, is not attached to wealth/education/being "sosyal".
It refers to the aggregate character traits of a good human being:  you are kind, respectful of others, act & dress properly at all times, not  judgmental, have goodwill towards all (or else, you just keep quiet & put on a neutal face), always considerate (or else, you just leave quietly) m  ---  and you are like that que manipis or makapal ang wallet ng kaharap mo.

It does not follow that in a family, if 1 sibling has breeding -- assume all have breeding. No, oh no!  Hahaha

It is hard to capture.  All I have experienced is that  whoever has good breeding has the ability to put anybody in front of him or her at ease --  whatever the situation.

I have met 2 women who epitomize Good Breeding:  Gretchen Cojuangco of Danding  & Pam Panlilio-Valdes.

Daphne Paez, Tweetie De Leon, angel aquino and many more are actually sosyal. Some may agree or some may not but Ive met Dra. vicki Belo twice and how she carries herself is actually sosyal.

Basically people who can carry themselves with grace and di "palengkera" are sosyal for me. Kahit walang brand iba ang aura and confidence nila.

classic and timeless ang fashion nila. They know what works for them and what not. Unlike the person who should not be named here (she used to have a thread here before). Puro mamahalin gamit nya, lives in exclusive subd, mayaman talaga sila but... My oh my asan na pagkaclass nya nd ang ugali ....mama mia...

IMO, the aura of class is the first thing. And a decent not-cheap stuff come along. Yeah gretchen in really sosyal. Agree.

i’m just a commoner and not sosyal myself pero from what i understand , ang pagiging sosyal ay isang character. i consider a person sosyal when she is able to make me believe that she is from a well off background, may it be true or not. it’s also about being finesse, hindi yung parang taklesa. siguro expensive items should come next to "prove" or maintain the impression that one is truly sosyal, hindi mukha lang :-)

the word sosyal is a misnomer for me.
A lot of times, and I admit I am guilty of this, is for example: a person goes to a pricey restaurant, buys expensive things, travels often, etc. .. dont we always hear "oi an sosyal mo naman", "and sosy mo ha",  or something to that effect.

The connotation kasi is when you are sosyal, you are affluent since you can afford things in high style. Meron din pa-sosyal which is just faking it to make it.

Napa-google tuloy ako and this is what i found and gave me better understanding of the word:

at eto nakakatawa:

^nakakatawa nga yung top ten signs sis ahahahahha

para di OT: yes I agree maricar reyes has a really sosyal aura.
yung pagiging sosyal for me is how you carry yourself, how you behave specially in public places.
madalas nasa physical appearance din, if you look neat, posture mo, etc.

For me, sosyal is just seeming rich, yun lang ang pinaka straight na definition. Not so PC pero that's how it is. Hehe.

But the important thing that differentiates the sosyal and the *pasosyal* is the perceived effort. Coz true sosyaleras don't have to try, they just are.

I think sosyal is just about the way someone dresses, the things she uses are branded, eating out at fancy restaurants, etc. Basically, mababaw lang ang dating. Parang you can describe one's pagiging "sosyal" based on what you see. Kung elitista ka siguro, it's a compliment to be called sosyal.

But for me it's far different from having class or breeding. Class is not just about these material things you have, it's your character, how you deal with people, how you react to things, how you carry yourself. It's not something one can base on what they only see outside.

Marami rin kasing pasosyal out there, that's why I don't really want to be associated with the word. I'd rather be known for having class. But that's just me. :)

Simplest terms-- mukhang mayaman. Good posture, graceful kumilos and magsalita and elegant kahit ang simple. Off the top of my head, maybe someone like Cherie Gil.

Also, mukhang old money.

I lived up hearing this word fom my mom and aunts. Saying, "You have to wear stuff like this so you don't look like a probinsyana, blah, blah,." , "It soesn't have to be over-the-top para 'sosyal'" ..

Well, when I was younger, I've always thought that sosyal was whatever rich people wore - the flashy things and stuff and especially when they converse in english. But later on, I learned it is how you carry yourself, how you present yourself to people and how you interact with them - which I am currently failing due to my continuous strike of lazy-slob weeks. hehe.. Godd thing my mom and aunts aren't here to scold me hahaha.
