we bathe max once a week using a mild dog shampoo.  she goes to the groomer naman every other month.  or kung alam namin na naiirita na siya sa haba ng hair niya, sometimes monthly.

when she was a puppy, she would eat 2x a day kasi naiiwan lang naman siya sa bahay.  but she has food/treats and water while we are gone.    if bago pa lang, on the 3rd month from birth, dinedeworm sila.  then they will be given monthly shots.  ke Max 3 monthly shots yong kanya, or after completing all her shots, magiging annual na.

training her you need a lot of patience.  pag nakikita na namin na she is about to pee or poop, tinatawag ko siya sa cr (kasi sa condo kami nakatira), in your case tawagin mo on a certain spot every time.  usually naman, they do the deeds pag kagising and after kumain.  ngayon di na siya sa CR e, meron na lang siya mat with her wiwi pad to do it.  pag poop, sa cr pa rin niya ginagawa or sa me terrace namin.  pero mas malimit sa me wiwi pad niya ginagawa parehas.  we never had problems with her naman.  wag mo lang gugulatin or ililipat pag yong wiwi na kasi di nila itutuloy yon.  pag poop naman, me maiiwan pag ginalaw mo sila.  ginagawa ko, sinasalo ko yong kitchen towel na tissue para flush ko na lang straight sa toilet bowl   nasanay na rin naman kasi siya na papunasan pwet niya ng wet tissue after niya mag-poop or after niya wiwi, nagpapapunas din siya.

wow thank you sa reply. He's just 2 months old. Medyo OC kasi ako kaya I always clean the room when he pee or poop sa floor. I only got him yesterday. I want everything to be clean. Sabi nung friend ko hindi ko pa daw siya pwede paliguan. I'm a working mom, so kapag weekends maybe I can bring him na to a vet, to start na his vaccination. What are the essentials I need to buy for him? and the recommended shots? vitamins? Thank you talaga.

At 2 months you can give your tzu a bath na. Do not bring you dog outdoors during the summer months since not yet complete shots nya and its also tick season. (Believe me you dont want your house infected by them and im speaking from experience) Start to house train your puppy and protect your tzu from any traumatic experience at this stage since it will leave a lifelong impression. Focus on house training your dog and only bring him/her to the vet. Avoid the outdoors completely till start of the rainy season na. Get a good quality dog food also and im not talking about alpo or pedigree. Good luck.

I had a routine blood test done on my babies just last week.  My eldest tzu's blood test indicated a creatinine level of 3+ but her BUN was only just a little big higher than usual.   She has a tendency to skip drinking or peeing.  My youngest tzu's blood work indicated a low protein result.
I am besides myself with worry for my babies.  I would appreciate any input from you sisters.

Pinadagdagan muna ang water consumption ng eldest ko.  Medyo mahina kasi sya uminom ng water and di rin palawiwi.  Then uulitin ang blood test nya.  Also, pinapagsupplement sya ng nefrotec para sa kidney nya.

hi mga sis! i need help. my shih is 6 months old and i want to give him Heartgard Plus myself. he's 4kg. dapat ba buong nugget na ibigay ko sa kanya or i had to cut that? hoping for your responses especially sa mga sis nating sila na ang naga-administer mismo ng mga needs ng dogs nila TIA!

I strongly advise that you take him to the vet first sis.  Kasi, with my tzus, before namin start ng Heartguard, the vet conducted a test first to see if they're really clear with heartworm.  I forgot what they called the test, but the vet told us that necessary daw gawin muna to.

Hi sis. Since six months pa lang naman yung pup mo, ok lang yan mag start ka na agad. kasi it takes six months to form an adult so kung wala pang six months, kaya pa patayin ng heartgard yung mga juvenile worms. [Source: my vet].
Sa weight ng dog mo, yung smallest dose lang but you need to make sure, kainin nya lahat and hindi isusuka after  para sure ka na protected sya talaga. Now pag lagpas na nag 6 months, you need to have a test done. Kukunan sya ng blood sample then ipapatak sa test kit (similar mechanism sa preg test) then wait ka for result.
Still, don't take my word for it... consult with your vet to confirm for your own peace of mind.

And kudos to you for intending to do this. Most  people I know don't give heartworm preventatives. My other dog had it so I know first hand what happens.

mga sis.. kasi yung fur baby ko e minsan nilabas namen para magwiwi at poop kaso naman nawili agad tas sa cage ayaw nya na umihi.. may pusa kasi hinahabol nya wala bantay sa kanya para magsaway. ano yung pwede gawin?

Put ur tzu on a leash when you take him out. Never ever leave your dog unattended outside.

Update on my kids:

I had the bloodwork redone after a month na we found the creatinine levels of our panganay na mataas.  We thought it was just that she wasn't really much of a drinker.  Tamad uminom at magwiwi.  So pinipilit talaga sya uminom.

Sadly, mas tumaas ang crea levels nya.  Worse, even her baby sister na ok ang crea level dati, mataas na din.  So right now, we switched to RC Renal dog food and increase water intake.

Have you tried Nefrotec? Our dog has been given Nefrotec recently, hindi kasi maganda urinalysis result nya. Maybe you could ask your vet about it.

^Yes sis, they're taking Nefrotec now.  Pansin ko eversince I changed their diet to RC Renal and twice a day Nefrotec, dumami ang wiwi nila.

Hello girls,

I'm new here.  Just wanted to ask kasi yung dog ko na shihtzu pregnant na siya, I want to get her groomed before she delivers her pups kaya lang hindi ko sure if advisable na ipa-groom siya. Humaba na kasi yung hair niya, last groom niya was before ko siya ipa-stud. Gusto ko sana kasi short hair siya pag nagka-baby. Any advise kung pwede ko siya ipa-groom? Thanks!
