Puppy pa ba shih tzu mo? our dog also used to eat his poop nung puppy days nya. napa-stop namin by being consistent sa pagsaway. pagkaamoy nya ng poop sinasaway na namin even before he eats it. then we also bought this round greenish supplement/medicine na malaki sa mentos na hinahati ko for him to swallow para di kainin poop. I bought it sa sm north.

Hi baka po may makahelp yung shih tsu po kasi namin nakalmot yung face nya super haba na kasi ng kuko. And then yung wound mas lumalalim dahil lagig basa malapit kasi sa eye area so laging basa kaya hindi gumagaling. Dinala namin sa vet at niresetahan ng maxitrol eye drops at antibiotics. Tapos na yung medication pero may sugat pa rin. Somebody please help.

Hello girls! Pls help me naman,my 1 yr old shih tzu has dark brown eyes and then napansin ko this morning na his eyes are cloudy and bluish na.

He was groomed 2 days ago and the next day i noticed he kept on squinting,parang sensitive sa light. Wala naman sya eye discharges so i didn't mind it, but I'm worried about this color change! Has anyone else here experienced the same thing?

hi sis astraiazosime, yes puppy pa sya, he's 3 months old, pwede ba ang banana sa kanila? may vitamins naman sya, vit c and food supplement. I hope ngayon lang sya ganito since puppy pa sya, wag naman nya sana kalakihan. Thanks sa tips sis

Sis, try mo pet balm from giga. Yung alaga ko madalas may hotspots and/or sugat na dko alam san galing, inaapplyan ko lang ng pet balm after a few days magaling na walang palya.

Hello, I'm getting a shih tzu this Saturday. =) Patulong naman po ano ba ang magandang ibigay na dog food? I know po mas maganda pang premium brands so pa suggest naman po ng maganda for Shih Tzu. Puppy is turning 3 mos this December 15.  I've read sa mga forums na dapat not so much high protein kapag toy dogs or small breeds. Ano po bang brand ang maganda? Where to buy and how much? Please help! Thanks! =)

Hi! Congrats on your new puppy! Good brands in the market are: Acana, Orijen, Go!, Eagle Pro, Solid Gold, Canidae, but nothing beats fresh home made diet. Remember that dogs are carnivores so meat ang maganda talaga sa kanila. Yung prices nila usually nasa 600up cheapest yung Eagle Pro nasa 350 lang per small bag around 1.5-2kilos yun. It can last for a month na for toy dogs. Pero kahit nakapremium kibbles, I highly suggest na magadd pa rin ng boiled meat sa dogfood nila kasi overly processed na yung dogfood and super dry, kailangan ng moisture to keep them healthy. My two tzus nagiging picky eater.  Nahawa na si Chichi (7 months old) kay Luckie (3 years old).  Ayaw nila ng dog food.  I tried to feed them boiled chicken breast and liver.  Kinakain naman nila.  Pero I have to coax them and, in Luckie's case, handfeed them.  Problem ko now is di sila nagpupoop or konti lang poop nila.  Normal ba to since nagchange diet nila and di na sila kumakain ni kibbles?

^hi sis, baka holiday blues lang. hindi ba heat season? kung active pa naman sila wag masyado magworry, observe mo lang. As much as possible resist on handfeeding kasi it makes them pickier, baka kasi psychological lang, mahirap malaman ang cause eh. Basta observe lang tapos pag may kakaiba na dalin na sa vet.

Yes mas onti ang poop pag nakahomemade diet, wala kasing fillers, usually once/day lang kasi naabsorb mabuti ng katawan nila yung meat Yung shih tzu ko minsan every other day magpoop. Even my bulldog na half kilo nakakain once a day lang ang poop.

ano pa ba magandang ibigay sa kanila na food sis?  nagkakaselosan ata eh.  Nagstart maging picky si Luckie, then nakigaya na lang si Chichi.  Luckie spends most of her time under the sofa, higa higa lang.  Lumalabas lang sya when we get home.

babykat, okay na yung chicken or pork with rice/oatmeal/pasta or potatoes, you can also add some liver para mas enticing sa kanila. Yung older tzu ko naman lumakas kumain nung nagkaron ng kasama, pero yung anak nya yung seloso pero okay pa rin appetite. Baka nagmamature na sis kaya nagmellow, yung first tzu ko ganyan din eh hindi sya malikot lagi lang nasa isang sulok nakahiga pero alert sya pag may tao or tinawag. Playful lang sya pag nilaro pero nagsusungit dun sa maliit. Inaangilan nya pag makulit. observe mo lang sila lagi, know thy dog sabi nga nila.

gelav, anong variant binili mo sis? sana magustuhan nya, yung akin kasi ayaw niya pag may fish yung dogfood. Sa lahat ng natry ko, acana lamb and apple and eagle pro lamb lang yung gusto niya. Boiled chicken, pork or beef maganda yun sa kanila, carnivores kasi mga dogs kaya need nila ng protein. Yung liver small amounts lang kasi rich yan lalo in vit a, pwede naman daily pero mga 1tsp. lang yung paglagay.

abuanddiego, binili ko yesterday Lamb and Apple kaya lang nabasa ko sa isang forum na masyado daw mataas yung calcium content ng Lamb and Apple for pups kaya pinapalit ko today ng Acana Puppy. Oo nga, sana magustuhan niya kasi ang daming magandang reviews sa Acana. =) Thanks for the tips! =)

Grabe sobrang kulet ng puppy. Ang taas ng energy, ako tuloy ang gumigive up. =)

PS. para saan po ang fish oil?

Hello mga sis usually ba 6in1 yung rabbies shot sa mga vet clinic? And ano po yung mga laboratory test pwede sa kanila, 7years old na kasi shih ko and lately lagi sya nagsususka at nagtatae. Dinala na namin sya sa vet at may mga gamot na sya pero wala test ginawa sa kanya. Gusto ko makasiguro na wala sya ibang sakit kaya gusto ko sya ipa complete lab.. Thank you

Meganda, yung 6in1 usually ang andyan is Parvovirus, Distemper, Hepatitis, leptospirosis, yung Anti-rabies separate sya binibigay, sila yung core/basic vaccines. Yung lab test naman usually complete blood testing yan, minsan kasi may parasite sila mas mabilis malalaman pag blood testing eh. pwede rin sila magask for stool and urine samples. I highly advice na ipatest nyo sya kasi medyo may edad na para malaman ano yung cause ng pagsusuka at pagtatae.

missreese, nasa teething stage sya kaya walang tigil yan sa pagchew. yan yung right time to correct the bad behavior, toys lang nya ibigay nyo and sawayin pag nagchew ng ibang gamit. exercise and teach her the basic commands para mapagod, that's the most effective way para matigil ang pagngatngat bec. it will drain her energy. it will take time at ilang gamit nyo ang masisira pero that's part of having puppies

fish oil, best source of omega 3 fatty acids sya--EPA & DHA. maganda yan sa overall health nila kasi it balances the fats in the body. it promotes healthy skin and coat, heart, joints, usually kasi yung fat na nakukuha natin is from animal fats or omega 6 fatty acids, alam nyo naman pag nasobrahan masama yan and causes inflammation. so ang purpose ng omega 3 is to create balance in our system. kahit sa allergies effective sya. isa yan sa supplements na binibigay ko sa aking mga junakis

Hi! 2 days ago, we noticed our shih tzu parang super disoriented tapos laging nabbump sa mga furniture sa bahay. Usually super happy at kulit nun, ngayon medyo matamlay and parang nangangapa kasi nga siguro walang makita. Nakakaawa Medyo nagportrude yung left eye niya, konti lang naman.

We went to three diff vets. Yung vet niya talaga sabi because of ear mites. 2nd opinion, natrauma daw sa  grooming. 3rd vet, sabi ipaopthal something basta xray sa mata - which we will do tomorrow sa Animal House Jupiter. Morning before this happened, we had him groomed sa Pet Express. Not sure if may direct relation yun sa nangyari sa kanya. Pero grabe, 2 years old palang yung dog namin!

May nakaexperience na ba ng ganito?

She's super antukin ngayon, ewan kung it's the weather or what, tapos picky na naman kumain, namimili, aamuyin pa muna [textspeak!] pagkain tapos kung feel niya kakainin pag ayaw, ayaw talaga.  pero the usual, gustong gusto pa rin ang real cooked fish (though weird kasi pag dogfood na fish variant ayaw, heheeh)...so malamang, try ko ulit muna ulit pakainin ng boiled chicked breast with sweet potato or kung anuman.  pero good thing, kahit picky eater, she still weighs the same, di pa naman gumagaan

Ano po magandang shampoo for puppies? I've narrowed it down to Giga Dog Shampoo Bar and Sergeant's Fur-So-Fresh Oatmeal. Ano po ba ang mas okay? I want to try Silk Creations kaya lang wala pa sa budget. =/

How much din po pala ang Play Pets shampoo and where to buy? Thanks! =)

our shih tzu is 6 weeks old. right now, our biggest issue is her potty training. any tips on how to do it? also, she's teething (we think). hilig na may nginangatngat. thanks!
