its scary to think about this and I dont want to give this possibilty more momentum but I guess at this point this is a big probability with global catastrophes and world leaders at each others throat recently, not to mention Trump to me seems like a ticking time bomb.
I guess prepping is a necessity now talaga. Any suggestions for the emergency bag ? Kelangan ba ng tent kaya and cash? hirap kase pag puro girls sa family and malayo papa namen and my family members are not open to the thought of a 'doomsday' but when I think of my daughter I know I just need to prepare kahit man lang basic. Ano kaya ang skills na kelangan when things go downhill and we need to go back to mother nature?
Some people are saying we may have an economic collapse in terms of financial system some say environmental naman I think different scenarios may need different preparations.
Hi Sis,
Depende kasi sa paniniwala ng individual. but para sa akin, every pinoy should have some level of preparedness. Mabuti na lang si Duterte with the recent bagyo, napaka efficient nila. And its good na yung admin ni Aquino decided to buy that packaging machine which was put to good use by the current admin.
ako im more of the practical prepper, i prepper for what's most likely to happen to me in my situation and environment.
dito sa amin change of season. kaya maulan. and last sunday, nag karoon ng Thunderstom Asthma. dahil change of season, the daily average of those being rushed to the ER is 300. but last sunday, around 2000. nagkulang ang ambulance. hospitals were forced to open their day facilities. naubusan pa ng ventolin ang city namin. meron pa daw namatay sa kakahintay ng ambulance. mabuti na lang handa ako, 3 ang ventolin ko, plus other meds. maganda talaga ang handa kasi calmado ka sa pag isip ng next steps mo.
parang nung nasa china ako, i was down to may last 2 sets of antibiotics. matagal tagal pa ako mag stay, i was already thinking of my next steps, last resort was to see an international doctor, but was already asking my fellow expats, good thing umabot yung word sa isang hindi ko kilala. she left her stash of meds with me, kasi paalis na siya. case solved. never ako umabot sa stage na nagpanic.
so for your case sis, you can think about what will most likely happen to you, your area, your family...etc
so yung mga common concerns ay, baha, tubig, pagkain, no electricity, earthquake,
yung isang friend ko, accepted na niya bumabaha sa kanila, so naka set up na ang bahay nila for flooding. may kids sya that need to study, so to cope with brownouts, may powerbanks siya, chargeable by solar panels. so pag brown outs, gumagamit na lang sya ng USB fan and lights.
food, maraming magagaling magluto or natututong mag luto. food preservation din na walang ref ang gamit. yung iba nag sisimula mag gardening. kapag tumubo na ang mga tinanim, nakakatipid sila sa groceries. healthy pa.
yung iba they take it further, for really dangerous scenarios, they plan to go out of the city to their bug out location. kadalasan sa probinsya. so may bug out bag sila, and get home bag, bug out vehicle then the bug out location.
the more skills you can learn the better.... cooking in the field, navigation, radio communications, first aid, mountaineering skills, bushcraft skills, sewing skills, soap making skills dami talaga
yung mga super seryoso at mapera, sila naman nakakatira na off grid. may bunker pa nga lol
i personally believe that pinoys should be practical preppers at the very least. why? pag nagkaroon ng disaster, maraming makakapag share ng gamit. walang magnanakawan. by nature mabait ang pinoy, kung maraming sobra, magbibigayan at magdadamayan ang pinoy.
