If snorkeling is what you want, maybe you may also want to consider Coron. I've read somewhere na mas okay ang underwater sa Coron pero better ang beaches sa El Nido.

hi sis, we've been to Coron already - yes the snorkeling was wonderful! since we've been to Coron na, we're looking for another place na maganda ang snorkeling.

Pinaka-ayoko sa trips namin sa El Nido were the van rides. Haay. Cramped seats, the stopovers were at places I didn't wanna eat at (sorry, maarte lang), nahilo ako and nearly threw up the last time

this is also what i'm dreading - the loooong van ride! naku, kaya yung dalawa sa kasama namin medyo alanganin sa El Nido, ayaw kasi ng long land travel.


@matetreyes, sis yung sites na sinabi mo (Simizu, Helicopter Island, Pangalusian), ok din ba ang snorkeling diyan and not just diving? kasi we're not divers eh, hehe.

yang mga sites na yan super ok mag-snorkeling saka hindi masyadong scary kasi hindi masyado maalon.

yun ngang may mga sharks sa pangalusian may part dun sa sobrang babaw ayaw ipa-kampay ng guide yung paa namin e, hehe.

saka takot din ako sa super lalim kaya rest assured na yang mga sites na yan ay pang-entry level lang din katulad ko, hehe

^sis, may silly question lang ako about dun sa "sharks"... you mean whale sharks ba? or another type of shark pero harmless? hehe medyo nag-freak out ako. as in you literally were snorkeling in an area with sharks?!

black tip sharks sis. as in pating. pero hindi kasi sila aggressive. isa yan sa attraction sa pangalusian. may "snorkeling with the sharks" sila na activity. mga 1-1.5meters lang sila. we saw around 9 na ganun. sabi naman ng guide hindi sila nang-aattack kasi ang tingin nila sa amin (group) kami ang predator nila kapag magkaka-dikit kami. =) saka ang tagal na nila nag-gguide sa area na yun wala pa namang napatay ng sharks, hehe

Cadlao island is also one of the best snorkeling sites in El Nido. Meron silang part dun where freshwater meets seawater.

Hi guys, in your opinion eh required ba ang aqua shoes sa island hopping sa El Nido? May nabasa kasi akong blog na must have item daw 'yun. Never akong nagsuot ng aqua shoes sa mga island hopping and snorkeling trips ko before.

Bukas na ang byahe namin, and iniisip ko kung bibili ako mamaya sa SM Dept Store ng aqua shoes.

^bili ka na lang sis tutal mura lang aqua shoes sa SM & sulit naman lalo na kung mahilig kang mag-snorkeling

I agree sis, bili ka na lang. Mura lang yun 250-300 php lang. Masusugat yung paa mo kasi may mga part dun na matutulis ang corals at bato.

Yes, aqua shoes if you have them, pero  kung hindi makabili, it's okay na rin. None of us brought a pair the last time, and kita ko yung ibang tourists naka sandals with straps lang, so it's manageable. For me, the most essential stuff are sunblock, mosquito repellent (if you are the type na lapitin talaga ng lamok!), and your camera (of course, haha). Also, a waterproof bag helps. Ako lang kasi may waterproof bag dati, kaya everyone else wanted to put their stuff in there.

Sisses may nakapag-avail na sa inyo ng island tour ng Entalula? I'm considering kung sa kanila ako kukuha kesa sa Northern Hope. 1000 lang kasi ang combi tour, sa Northern 1200 tour A lang, tapos hindi pa sa town mismo 'yung accommodation na ibibigay nila sa'min.

punta kami ng partner ko sa November, kelangan ko pa ba mag early book ng tour? or mas okay kung dun na lang? sa sibaltan kami magstay which is an hour and a half away from town. they offer tours pero walang combination since bawal na daw.

^hindi ko pa na try mag combi kasi parang amazing race na ang peg nun. nung nandun kami, everyday ibang tour. wala din kaming prior booking, nag punta lang kami sa servants mismo para mag pa reserve. I recommend them kasi ang babait ng boatmen nila. they also serve very delicious meals!

Entalula, as in Entalula Cottages? Parang ang mura nyan, sis. We stayed here at ang quote sa amin is the standard new rates of 1200 for tour A, 1300 for tour B, etc. We wanted tour C sana pero at that time, no tour C was being offered because wala masyado nag-avail. So balik na lang kami sa Servant Tours.

Pero kung 1000 lang talaga for the combination, ay definitely go!

ohcmon, just a few weeks ago lang. Let me paste here the rates Ms. Fernandez e-mailed me:

TOUR A P1200/Person-small lagoon, big lagoon,simizu island(lunch), secret lagoon,7 commandos island.
TOUR B P1300/Person-snake island, codugnon cave(lunch), cathedral cave, entalula island, pinagbuyutan beach
Tour C P1400/Person-Matinloc shrine, secret beach, star beach(lunch) hidden beach, helicopter island
Tour D P1200/Person-pasandigan beach,bucal beach,natnatbeach (lunch), cadlao lagoon

No mention of the combination tour though.

^^ We're doing the combi tour kasi isang araw lang kami sa El Nido. If you have time naman siguro do separate tours na lang para mas ma-enjoy niyo hehe.

Thanks kay sis who posted abt Huglet Travel and Tours. We're inclined to go with them na. They quoted us P5,600/pax for 3D2N accommodation, round trip PPS-El Nido-PPS van transfers, UGR tour, two buffet lunch, daily breakfast, combi tour A&C, and PPS city tour.

If without UGR tour daw, less P1,000 lang.

Sana maka avail kami ng combi tours if ever. 2.5 days kase kame sa el nido and DIY lang lahat. Eto tentative iti namin:

Day 0: arrival to PP, travel to El Nido
Day 1: tour A (or combi A and C, if ever)
Day 2: inland tour (nacpan, marimegmeg beach bumming)
Day 3: beach bumming sa Tapik Beach (sibaltan); travel back to PP
Day 4: UGR sa PP; flight back to manila sa gabi
