I heard they banned Magic Sarap seasoning in the US due to a salmonella scare or something. There was also a time when they were crazy looking for chicharon in your baggage. Happened to me a couple of years ago. I didn't have any on me. That was in SFO. Don't know about other entry points. Dried mango is ok.

^A friend handcarried a few In N Out burgers to MNL a couple of months ago, but after a 12hr flt, it's not gonna be the same anymore. Soggy.

Personally, I don't bring Asian/Filipino food to the States since Pinoy stores are aplenty...(well, depends on where you're going, I guess). Good thing my hubby and I have the same sentiments on bringing food as padala. We're both "praning" and lazy. We're always zooming in and out of the baggage/customs area. Prefer no long stops, lines and checks.

Will be in SFO again this Easter and crossing my fingers my MIL doesn't send any! Haha...happy trips to all.

^Yeah, my brother told me about that Magic Sarap ban, favorite nya kasi yun.

When I visit my brother in San Jose hindi na rin ako nagdadala ng Pinoy goodies kasi nga marami naman na Pinoy/Asian stores sa kanila. May kamahalan nga lang syempre kasi imported. But different story when I visit my sister in Cleveland kasi malayo sa kanila yung Pinoy store and yung Asian stores naman very limited ang mga items. Kaya mega-bilin lang naman every time I go visit. Ang typical bilin ng sister ko: Chocnut, dried mango, Goldilocks polvoron, Lactacyd

My question is pwede ba yung Argentina Corned Beef na de lata, Hopiang Monggo and Ube, Pastillas, Turrones de Kasuy? Tsaka ano ang maximum number of packs for cigarettes? Sa Los Angeles ang port of entry ko. Isa pa pala pwede ba yun videoke sa checked baggage or kailangan hand carry? Thank you.

Yung sa akin - pwede bang malaking backpack (mga 25inches x 12inches) and 1 traveling bag, mas maliit ng konti.


Sa girlfriend ko - 1 backpack na large jansport, and 1 messenger bag normal size.

pwede ba magdala ng 1 foldable umbrella?

^pwede naman bumili before you check in para cheaper compared to paying pag dating mo sa counter. You can buy online or call their reservations office.
