Just a reminder for hand carry bags, the 100ml rule still applies for LAGs for both domestic and international flights.

LAGs stand for the following:

L - Liquids
A - Aerosols
G - Gels including Creams

All LAGs should be placed in containers not more than 100ml. All these should fit inside a 1 liter sized bag.

For checked-in bags, most airlines if not all will have the 30kgs or 32kgs maximum weight per piece rule. Meaning no single bag should weigh more than 30 or 32 kgs. This was a result of safety and health issues brought forward by baggage handlers since passenger bags are handled manually. Any excess weight will have to be transferred to another bag.

To clarify the above statement: I am talking about the maximum weight of one piece of baggage at any one time and not the baggage allowance per class of service. Even if traveling on economy class and your FREE baggage allowance is only 20-23kgs, you can still carry up to 30-32kgs per piece. You will just have to pay for excess baggage. But you can not overpack a bag over the maximum weight set by the airline per piece of bag (be it 30 or 32 kgs).

Standard FREE baggage allowance per class of service (tourist travel):

Destination: Asia/Europe/ME/Australia
Economy Class: No pc. restriction total at 20-23kgs
Premium Economy: No pc. restriction total at 25kgs
Business Class: No pc. restriction total at 30-35kgs
First Class: No pc. restriction total at 40kgs

Destination: US/Canada (Transpacific)
Economy: Two (2) pieces at 20-23kgs per piece
Premium Economy: Two (2) pieces at 25kgs per piece
Business Class: Two (2) pieces at 32kgs per piece
First Class: Two (2) pieces at 32kgs per piece

***Once again each airline may differ in their checked-in baggage policy so check with your respective airlines before you travel.***

List of some of the prohibited items in checked-in bags:

1. Flammable materials i.e. firecrackers, gasoline, lighter fluids (in big quantities)
2. Compressed gas
3. Spare lithium batteries i.e. cellphone, camera, batteries. But can be packed in carry ons (minimal number of pieces only)

For other prohibited items in checked bags, refer to your respective airlines.

I just want to clarify: 100ml for lotions and the like tapos they should be placed in ziplocks? Ang nangyayari kasi di na ako nagdadala ng liquids(ex toner) coz i'm not really sure about the rule on these stuff. Thanks

^I think only you can answer your first question. It all depends on where you're going, the weather and how often you personally prefer to change.

As for your 2nd question, pls see the above post re LAGS regulations. :)

^^depende sa iyo kung mahilig ka magpalit ng damit. for me kasi very light lang dinadala ko...let's say for 1 week...i would only bring 1-2 jeans, 3 shirts, 12 socks and undies, 2 sets pj. then toiletries.  yun lang, so kahit isang backpack kasya na yun.

^Edited my post. 100ml rule good for both domestic and international flights.

Depends on the airline you are taking most airlines will allow one personal item (handbag/purse/backpack) and one handcarry bag (should fit either under your seat or on the overhead compartment). Parang lalabas dalawa ang bitbit mo onboard.

To be sure check with your airline para no surprises when you get to the airport.

Domestic flight via zest air. Hindi naman masyadong bulky yun tripod namin.

Hi! My mom and 2 brothers are heading to boracay today via cebu pac. They brought 1 luggage only for the 3 of them. When they checked in, the luggage weighed 18kilos but they were asked to pay fee in excess of 10kilos which was 3200php. Checked in luggage per passenger is 10kilos so i dont understand why they are asking for excess luggage fee even though my mom already said that it was for 3 pax. They checked in altogether at the same time. Is it not allowed to just combine if you are traveling as family??

^ sis, 1 ticket lang ba sila? Sa pagkakaalam ko, pwede combined yung luggage basta one ticket lang sila.. we travelled na din before na 1 maleta lang kami ni hubby, tig-10kg kami. Maleta namin was almost 20kg so sakto lang, di naman kami pinabayad excess..

^^sis, iba kasi ang ruling sa mga low cost carriers since check-in baggage is not automatically included in the airfare unlike sa mga legacy airlines. As far as I know for low cost carriers pwede mo i-pool ang check-in baggage if all the travelers are in one record locator/booking reference. But if individual ang reloc nila hindi pwede i-pool even if traveling as a family or a group. Although minsan (depende sa discretion na rin ng staff/airline) pumapayag sila mag-pool ng baggage.
