With regard to 15 days sa insurance, I think its a recommendation by insurance companies. I saw it before  online (AXA i think) and the reason was because some embassies add 15 days after the travel date. But for me, exact days lang lagi ang travel insurance ko. Ok lang naman (French, Danish and Italian embassies). Last year I applied sa Spanish embassy, my current medical insurance has repatriation and A&E cover abroad, hindi na ako nagpurchase ng travel/medical insurance tinanggap naman nila.

We just lodged our application at the Italian Embsssy last Thu, Aug 22. We were given a receipt where the VO wrote Sept 2, 3pm-4pm, then stamped the days we could make follow up. I'm surprised that we're not gonna wait that long. 10 days including Sat and Sun and the holiday on Mon. The VO took all original docs and didn't ask for the photocopied. The interview was relaxed kasi nagtatagalog yung VO. Any idea what's the "Follow Up" stamp for? Are we supposed to call before going there on Sept 2?

I just remembered. Hindi kami kinuhanan ng finger print.  Haaaay.. nakakakaba naman 'to.

No fingerprints din sa amin sis. We showed up at the embassy on the follow up date stamped and our passports were released then. We were told lang to go back to the embassy once our tour ended or on October. Maybe, they will check if we didn't overstay there? Tama ba?

fast nga talaga ang Italian embassy if you lodge it directly and not thru PIASI. I made an appointment
na for next month. I'm still waiting for my other visas kasi.

Thanks mrs. sweet. How about the photo copied docs, did they take it from you? Puro original yung kinuha samin. And yes I think they just wanna ensure that you dont overstay kaya may appearance after the travel.

vain_kixie, the embassy didn't ask for additional docs when we claimed our passports. when we submitted our applications, sinama ko na dun yung booking voucher ng travel agent ko. No questions asked naman na re that.

tenshougi, in our case, puro photocopied docs and our passports lang ang kinuha. when they released our passports, they asked if I need to retrieve some docs that I submitted. Told them, hindi na, since, photocopy lang naman lahat ng hiningi sa akin.

Haaaaaaaay... Kaya pala ang tagal tawagin ng pangalan namin. Huli sa pinakahuli. Magsasara na sila nung tinawag pangalan namin. Haaaaaay... kailangan ba talaga ng lawyer pag mag a-appeal?

I believe its better to re apply than to appeal.

Hay kinabahan ako tuloy, I'll be applying at the Italian embassy as well. Just waiting for my other visas.

Yeah.. that means paying another 60Euro. Part of me wanted to fight for the reversal of visa refusal kasi makikita din na denied yung una. Below are the reasons why we got denied:

8. The information submitted regarding the justification for the purpose and conditions of the intended stay was not reliable.

9. Your intention to leave the territorynof the Member States before the wxpirybof the visa couldnt be ascertained.

We have all of our bookings printed and our airline ticket is confirmed. We have cover letter and detailed itinerary even it's not on their list of requirements. We have stable jobs (8 yrs at the current company).

I'm really not sure what we csn further present. *sigh*

tenshougi did you get a chance to ask what further documents they need? I live abroad pero my experience with Schengen visa mababait ang mga nasa desk and they give you chance to complete the documents. Like sa French embassy - they told me to provide paid hotel accommodation, ang dala ko kase nung una hindi pa paid.  Then last I applied sa Spanish embassy, the person next to me na-deny tapos inexplain sa person kung ano need nya ipresent pa.

I think for number 9 present properties in the Philippines para talagang babalik ka sa Philippines?

Nakakakaba naman yung kay sis tenshougi. Sa september 11 na yung visa application namin sa Italian embassy. May mga pahabol na tanong lang ako:
1. Does the embassy accept accommodation bookings through bookings.com? Yung florence and Rome ko kasi through bookings.com pero "Free cancellation and pay at the hotel" yung policy. Yung Venice and Paris, directly with the hotel/owner yung reservation namin.
2. Is it safe if we mention na ang purpose ng stay namin is honeymoon? Ano bang pwedeng maging repercussions nito?
3. Do we already have to purchase train tickets within Italy?

^ 1) yes, they accept that. Na-try ko na airbnb, agoda and direct to hotel/owners na reservations and ok naman
   2) ok to mention it. First trip namin was for honeymoon din (although 6mos after the wedding na; kasi me domestic and SEA honeymoon legs kami), and I mentioned it on the cover letter.
   3) Based on my experience, I only booked the train and budget air tickets (for travel within Italy, and for within Schengen) when we already had our visa. Pero I indicated sa itinerary we submitted yung transpo options namin (e.g. "overnight train to Madrid", "overnight train to Paris", "book with xx budget airline", "book through Trenitalia.com", etc).

^ Thanks, bagaholic_chewy! Follow up questions lang:
1. So safe din if yung accommodation na binook is walang prepayment? Kasi "pay at the hotel" yung na-book ko for Florence and Rome.
2. Yung wedding naman namin is 5 days before our planned departure. iniisip ko kasi kapag binanggit namin na honeymoon, baka i-assume ng embassy na dapat mas malaki pera namin sa banks kasi wedding namin plus honeymoon pa.
3. Got it! Ang na-book ko lang is yung Paris to Venice namin. 69euro lang kasi kay Air France per person.
