I used to believe na magwowork yung ganitong klaseng relasyon but it didn't on my case. Although I trust my ex bf at that time pero may ibang issue kami. Priority nya yung career nya kesa sa relasyon namin which is difficult to accept at first but eventually I realized na hindi talaga kami pwede in the end. I've been single for 2 years coz hinintay ko sya na bumalik pero waley talaga. Ayoko na ng ganito.

if he's gone, then thats it, move on. Focus on yourself being happy. if you get into another relationship, try LDR again. Insane right?!! but sometimes, we have to face the bitter part of the life, so we can understand the taste of sweetness. ask for tips here :-)

It works for us. more than 4, about 5 years in.

it really sucks, but we're pretty good. we've adjusted to it fine.

we always call each other and message through out the day. if one needs the other, we're cool with waking each other up.

we are so updated and involved with each other's lives: i know his friends' dramas , his mom's doctors appointments, down to his nephew's new toy. he knows all of mine too. the other day, i jokingly told him i'm at another guy's house, and he's just like -- uhhuh. when did you even have time to even meet another guy?

we still watch movies and tv shows together. he often jokes that we'd never break up because we always need the other when watching 'our shows'. we like to watch and talk shit about them together, and would never, NEVER watch without the other because they're just boring without our commentary.

i remember when we started this, i was so unhappy and angry. i mostly blamed him for not staying here, and it took a while to sync our times and find a routine that works.

we've broken up lots of times, but always got back together. worst breakup we've had was about 3 years ago, for about a year -- but we were each other's bestfriend, so we still talked everyday. he eventually flew in to convince me to give it another shot. he flies in every couple of months, and is coming back this August.

honestly, seeing some relationships around me, i'd say he's leagues a better boyfriend even from far away than some of the ones i know here with their boyfriends physically with them.

i mean, seriously, just yesterday, he went on a hunt for the limited edition shoes i've been dying to buy. called shoe stores around his area, went to 2 malls during his work break, went all the way to his bank, to complain when websites won't take his card to order my shoes. i mean... come. the fuck. on. THAT, is a boyfriend.

Mine worked. We met online, then become friends, then later met personally. After that LDR na, Im not used to such kasi I never liked skype or I thought LDR doesnt work. Im the going out to the movies on weekends and hhww type of deal. It was very challenging for me but it worked naman with daily skype and plenty of imessages everyday. After 12mos LDR, we got engaged kasi we cant stand being separated anymore. We are getting married na in December.

Met him Dec 2010.
He's a seafarer. Brother siya ng friend ko who's working also here in SG.
On/off communication namin. He had a gf 2011-2012.
Dec 2013 constant communication na.
January 2015 I said yes😝 to be his gf.
April 2016 got engaged.
May 2017, our church wedding 😄

Being in LDR is tough.
But as long as you are commited with each other, with love, respect& trust, constant communication everything will be alright.
Hopefully and praying that may forever 🙏🏻😄

^ True. LDR is tough, but nothing’s tougher than being in a relationship with someone who may be geographically present but emotionally and spiritually distant from you. Kapag kayo, kayo talaga, even if he lives on the other end of the planet. Call me naive but I also believe in the “red string” concept. Girls, be thankful of what you have. If you lost, or gave up, I hope the Universe soon delivers someone who can fill that void in your heart and hopefully, he lives nearby :)

^ Natawa ako sa sinabi mo. Only because I used it sa letter kay husband sa church  wedding naman a few weeks back..:D.  Kasi para nga kaming  The red string. We met in 2001, may long time gf sya. May long time bf ako. Pero naging friends kami for about a month, due to internship, co-intern kami for a month. Then nagkita kami uli sa store ng auntie ko after graduation pero may gf pa sya. Ako kakabreak lang. hehe. Then lumipat na sya sa US. Then naging friends sa friendster. Nawala. Then 2009 naging friends sa facebook. Then Sept. 2009 lumipad ako to go to London. Then just because of a facebook post, nag post sya, nagcomment ako. Nag start kami mag chat sa FB, then YM . Meron syang ka something. Ako sumasomething hehe. Pero everyday we were chatting up. hehe. Tapos yun na. After a few years, we've realized na yung friendship namin, iba na. hehe. LDR lang nga.  We used up all modes of communication, fb, ym, viber skype. After how many years, of going back and fourth and back again, now we've just celebrated our 1st year of marriage.

It's true that LDR is hard. Pero totoo din, mas maapreciate mo ang LDR more, kasi 2 tao ang nag eeffort para magkaron kayo ng time para sa isa't isa regardless of the time difference. Walang araw, walang gabi, kasi you try to make your time. Kesa sa magkasama nga  kayo, kahit pa sa isang kwarto, pero pag kinakausap mo wala sa yo yung attensyon kasi naka subsob yung mukha nya sa DOTA or whatever is the newest craze now. hehe.  And you don't really get to know each other.

I think, most of us here (who are in a LDR), can say na we have made it work. Not because of our current situation na masaya tayo. We say na we have made it work kasi nalagpasan na natin yung level ng LDR, kasi magkasama na kami. Now of course, marriage is another chapter hehe.

Once somebody stops trying, this creates a problem, until somebody gives up.  Anyways, good luck for those still on LDR.  It is quite difficult, but the rewards are so great :D

^ sis, congrats sa love story mo and thanks for sharing :)

I particularly like this statement and I think it is very true. Kahit same time zone kayo, once may bumitiw, that's it.

Once somebody stops trying, this creates a problem, until somebody gives up.

it works if both of you want it to work. kahit naman ata anong lapit or layo nyo, kung gusto nyo mag work, you'll put an effort to it. relationships requires hard work. loving is always a choice :) 1year 2 mos na din kaming LDR ni boyfie. walang kasing saya pa rin :)

or ganon ba talaga pag pumasok sa isang relationship? parang mag kakaroon ka ng limits? katulad ng meeting new guy friends or hanging out with guy friends alot?

nga pala he's a foreigner. and mga tao sa bansa nila ay medyo conservative kaya sa tingin baki sya ganto mag react sa mga guy friends ko.

^my husband is foreigner too. Sya mas conservative sa amin 2. Mahirap ang ganyan selos factor na tampuhan. Wala kasi kami ganyan na tampuhan about paglabas or issue with my friends na lalaki. Better pag usapan nyo yan once and for all.

It's hard but it can work ,yes. But it is hardER if one or both of them are attractive to have other people go after them.

He is a responsible panganay guy and we are planning to get married after two years! Nkaka pressurr dina pero masipag kasi siya at no doubt na kaya niya yun another prob is sobra siya mag support sa family niya na nawawalan na siya ng time and effort sa aken. Dahil malayo magastos. Honestly i tell him na jan ka nalang sainyo kaya maghanap ng gf atlis malapit lang diba?

I did my pros and cons list at mas maraming pros sa cons pero heavy naman kasi mga cons niya like major talaga.. im waiting nalang makapunta siya saken at pag uusapan namin mga issues if he manage it properly then Im willing to give a chance pero ang saklap if mas pipiliin niya family niya over me anong laban ko?? Ngayon palang sobrang sakit na..

Me karapatan ba ako mag rant mga sis??

On the rocks na nga kami as of now nag iiba na plans niya and priorities ako naman kelangan bumangon para sa pamilya ko this time they need my help. Tapos it affects my family kasi ayaw nila saknya.. ang hirap na.. haaay

Di ko alam mag sisi ba ako or mag momove on nalang talaga kapag hiwalay na kami. 😞
