Got my medela swing maxi today at the mommy mundo bazaar. Got fitted for the breastshields with test pump, it hurts din pala to pump good news is i have some milk na, a few drops came out while i was being fitted

I'm going to order thru Amazon Ameda Purely Yours Double Electric Breast Pump, Mas mura pala talaga when you buy from the states. Anyway, would you recommend I get the spare parts kit? For owners, ang kasama ba na flanges yung standard size lang? I have huge boobs right now, as in DD tapos may nipples are huge too, (TMI sorry hehe) should I get the XL size flanges? Im still at 15 weeks but sayang kasi black friday sale hehe yung price ba na naka post ngayon sa Amazon, mababawasan pa pagdating ng black friday? sorry, newbie sa pag order sa Amazon hehe

i have manual and electric breast pumps

pag sa bahay, manual lang gamit ko (Farlin). pero pag sa office, yung electric na (spectra 3). nakabuild na din ako ng freezer stash weeks before going back to work so iniiwan ko na lang dito sa office yung spectra 3.

and yes, ang milk output depende sa mommy at hindi sa pump.

^ kalas lahat sis (yung mga removable parts lang naman that gets in contact with milk) then sabay ko lang sa bottles ni baby para isahan na lang

How often do you guys wash and sterilise the removable parts?  I am at work right now, and I just washed with running water, as in it's not hot kasi I have no time to do it.

Nagiging problem ko kasi ito with yayas who complain that I am too delikado that I want them to wash almost every after use.  Thrice a day lang naman kasi I have extra accessories, except for the breastshields. 

At almost 3 months, nakakailan kayong output?  So far, after breastfeeding, I can sometimes collect between 1.75 to 2 ounces, and right now, after 3 hours, 4.5 ounces lang.

Ini-sterilize niyo po lahat? Pwede po bang pakuluan lahat yun or babad lang sa hot water?

^ Buhos ng bagong kulo na water lang  pinapagawa ko to sterilize.. di na ako bumili ng sterilizer since iba-iba gamit na bottles ni baby. At di naman ganun kadami since nagdidirect din naman kami. Ayoko pakuluan kasi baka mag-stretch o ma-deform yung plastic..

I sterilise my stash kasi gift sakin yun. Chicco yung brand and all my bottles fit naman kahit avent, medela or the storage bottle.

^not sure about spectre but for my medela pump i was told to just submerge the membrane in hot water, do not boil or put in a sterilizer. And no need to wash tubing as it doesnt come in contact with milk, if used properly.

before sis, i wash and sterilize every after use...

sa ngayon, what i do, is i buy a sealed plastic container, clipfresh ng home gallery, then after i use my flange up to backflow protector, i put it there and put it in ref... i use it till half day, mga 4 times use, then tsaka ko iwash and sterilize all parts....

so far, no contamination naman... never pa nagkadiarrhea si baby... basta when i sterilize and wash parts, i also put hot water dun sa clipfresh ko para parang sterilize na rin siya.... 5 days pwede istore yung bm sa ref and pag normal trmp up to 4 hours so i guess, same lang sa milk na naiiwan sa flange basta nasa sealed container mo naman siya lalagay and always put it in ref....

super hassle talaga sis pag pump then wash ka lagi.... kaya when i learned na pwede sa ref... laking ginhawa... imagine doing it every 3 hours even at night... zombie mode talaga ko dati

kahit kasi may yaya its hard to always sterilize... ayaw ko naman iwash flanges ko whitout sterilizing kasi iniinsip ko what if yung nawasa water natin yung maging cause ng contamination diba...

i only use kindercare steam sterilizer and i put everything there including membranes.... so far ok naman lahat ng parts....

m1 user na ko now... i use it as a single pump na lang para mas malakas suction so parang may extra flange na din ako

I have cimilre m1 din. Ive read it's actually safer to just put your pump parts sa sealed bag or plastic container then put sa ref than washing it every after use. More risk ng contamination yung madaming hugas. 3x ako mag pump sa office after ng last pump ko dun ko na i rinse then hugasan pagdating sa bahay then sterilize. Hindi lahat ng parts though. Yung valve ko kasi before ini sterilize ko napunit I had to buy another pair tuloy. Pero baka sa paghuhugas din ng partner ko kaya napunit.

Dito ko lang din sa GT nalaman na pwede yung I-ref muna then re-use the pump parts within the day. Laking ginhawa nga. Dati kasi after every use e pinapahugasan and sterilize ko din. Hassle. Buti me nakapagsabi dito sa forum.

I use spectra m1 okay naman siya at convinient lagi kong dinadala kahit saan, tapos after 3-4 na gamit doon ko hinuhugasan at sterelize.

I keep seeing different terms and cant figure out what they refer to: membrane, flange and valve. (?)

^Valve is yung nasa loob yung parang triangle na maliit na kinakabit bago yung bottle.

Flange, not too sure pero yun yata yung pinaka main part ng pump yung dinidikit sa breast

I don't know what a membrane is I hope someone could enlighten us

If you have a medela pump, the membrane is that tiny white removable plastic attached to the yellow valves.

opted to buy M1 kesa Ameda purely yours. Is that the only pump you use? Read kasi in the thread na masisira siya if yun lang gamit mo na pump May nabibili ba na spare parts dito locally? thanks!
