mga mommies any idea po and recommendation regarding with OB? first time mother po kasi ako..

For those on Taguig area, I recommend  Recuenco Medical, Maternity, Children and Well Baby Clinic.  Gave birth here last December.  I was hesitant at first for what if there will be complications but my OB convinced me to try it at Recuenco first since they have the same facilities with a hospital.  Good thing, in the end I decided to give birth at Recuenco.  I was assisted by my OB, 2 pedias and 4 nurses while on the delivery room.  All I can say is it was superb.  I highly recommend it.  Our bill (mine and baby) was almost Php28000, no Philhealth.

I'm a newbie here. I gave birth in Sept 2008 via c-section at CGH. I'm from binangonan, rizal. Now, i'm 13 weeks pregnant with my 2nd child and plano ko sna magtransfer ng obgyne medyo nalalayuan na ako sa CGH. I hope you can help me, ask lang ako ng recommendations na magaling at practical na obgyne near rizal area? either manila east medical or taytay doctors kung meron.. Thanks!!

Hi! I gave birth at The Medical City last October. We availed of their package which costs 50,030.00 (normal delivery) but our bill reached nearly 60k which was still okay. Here are the details of the packages.

NSD Package (50,030.00)
                    Inclusive of:
                    - professional fees and delivery fee
                    - room and board (max 3 days, baby-friendly - baby will be roomed-in)
                    - selected supplies
                    - epidural single shot anesthesia
                    - newborn screening and hearing test
                    - 6 hour stay in nursery (only if necessary like if baby has complications)

CSD Package (72,055.00)
                    Inclusive of
                     - professional fees and delivery fee
                    - room and board (max 5 days)
                    - selected supplies
                    - spinal single shot anesthesia
                    - newborn screening and hearing test
                    - 24 hour stay in nursery (only if necessary like if baby has complications)

I was really happy with the service and the staff. Plus, the hospital offers seminars (parenting 101, breastfeeding, etc) which were very helpful since it was my first time. Also note that anyone can go to their seminars even if you plan to deliver in a different hospital.

Hi! When you avail of the packages, you will be assigned in "baby-friendly" rooms. It's a small room but you have it to yourself. You will not be sharing it with other mommies so you still have your privacy. Plus in these rooms, your visitors can visit you anytime. If you want, you can go to TMC, they conduct tours.

gave birth at pgh last month...stayed 5days in private room, scheduled elective cs, no philhealth
77k++ (room, meds, ob, anes etc)

room is big for a small private category, cable tv, fridge, spacious t/b, service meals were ok. daily service for linen change and bath for mommy and baby
nurses were nice except for one that i encountered in the nursery na masungit sa mommies from ward
overall stay is good...but not for mommies who are after hotel-class accommodation. pgh has been renovated but it still looks old.

ob - highly recommend dr. jean ann toral - ob for both of my pregnancies
clinics at mcu doctor's office, pgh fmab, natinal kidney institute and don santiago bldg across pgh

anes - good service from dr. mangubat of pgh
their pfs are a little lower than most quoted here

Excited na kami ni hubby kaya super ipon na.

Sobrang na stressed ako sa mga rates! 10 weeks palang na preggy here. First time. Plus sized and I am praying for a normal delivery sana.. May nakapag try na ba ng Angeles University Foundation Hospital sa Pampanga? How about Sacred Heart? Thanks!

How about CGH rates? 2 years ago I gave birth normal delivery, semi private room 24k lang binayaran ni hubby walang Philhealth. I am due May this year, clueless ako sa rates ngayon. Mukhang normal delivery naman.

That's great news sis hindi sila nagtaas pala. Gave birth 2 years ago sa CGH 24k binayaran namin no Philhealth semi-private. Kaya lang I would suggest you get a private room. Mahirap may kasama as with our experience, ang ingay ng visitors ng room mate namin. Tapos nasa tabi nya yung aircon if she gets cold pinapatay nya aircon kami naman init na init. You can't even converse with your husband privately lalo na if the other patient is sleeping. Pag lights off, lights off sa buong room. If their baby cries and yours is asleep, magigising din kayo. Just add a few thousands pa for you to rest completely and enjoy your first days with baby. I am due this May 2013 and we are considering a private room. Kahit walang TV ok lang. Just my two cents.

by the way, who's your OB pala if I may ask?

ako din sa CGH ako nanganak 3 years ago sa charity ward lang ako kase asawa ng pinsan ko resident doctor sa CGH kaya naipasok ako sa charity ward kahit 7months na tummy ko i only paid 2500 upon admission tapos nakapagrefund pako ng 1200 kase wala daw complication ok naman experience dun, i also have a private OB sa CGH si Dr. Pardillo medyo oldies na pero recommended siya sakin she ask me to prepare 20-30k for NSD.
