Oo nga, mas mabilis sa province. Feeling ko naman sis, abot yang sa BF mo.
Now, i wonder baki lt may delays kasi pag nagrenew at nagbayad naman, may nakalagay kung express or hindi yung passport. Pag express, mas mahal at supposed to be 7 working days lang. Pag regular, 2 weeks ang max.
Yung new passport ko, this week or early next week yata pero di pwede ipadeliver since need nila icancel yung extension ng validity nung old one ko kaya need na naman ako mag-appear.
Pag dito sa metro manila, parang mas mabilis pag sa main office ang processing kesa sa mga satellite offices nila.

first time ko i-a-apply for passport yung 3 kids namin. they are all minors and legitimate.

do i really need to get this?

"Notarized Affidavit of Support and Consent to travel from either parent (if minor is a legitimate child) / from mother (if minor is an illegitimate child)"...

if so, tig-iisa ba sila OR 1 document na stated yung names nilang 3?

saan po nakakakuha nito?

Renewal na kami ni hubby and 6yo daughter tomorrow sa DFA Megamall. Kailangan nga ba talaga ng "Notarized Affidavit of Support and Consent to travel from either parent (if minor is a legitimate child)"?

Sabay naman kaming 3 magrerenew.

i recently got married.  but my passport expired on 2015 pa. is it ok to renew my passport when it expires na?

also, if i fly out, do i use my new name or the one that is still in my passport?

^ Yes, sis. Paiba mo na lang pag mae-expire na. Always use your name na nasa passport sa mga travel docs mo, like plane tickets.

I had my passport changed from my maiden to my married name. At eto, sobrang nai-stress ako kasi hanggang ngayon wala pa rin. Ang sabi makukuha ko noong Nov. 21, ayun nang magpunta ako sa DFA Robinson's Galleria, wala pa raw. Ewan daw kung kelan magiging available. Magfollow up na lang daw ako. And now di ako maka-fly. Di rin ako makapagpamedical. Sira lahat ng sched ko.

^^ Married na ang ilagay mo, sis. Kasi sa Pinas naman legal na hindi mag-change ng name kahit nag-asawa na. So they won't question kung bakit married ka na pero yung dating name mo pa rin ang ginagamit mo. Pero ako, since I got married last January, I always bring with me a copy of my marriage contract sa travels ko.

I had no intentions of changing my passport talaga since it will expire on 2015 pa rin. Kaso naisip namin na better ipaiba ko na kasi ng inaayos ang immigration papers ko. Para consistent na ang lahat ng documents ko. Kaso eto nga, minalas. May mga nabasa rin ako na maraming nagpachange ng civil status ang na-delay ang passport. Pero di ko alam kung coincidence lang.

Btw, pag nagparenew ka ng passport, they will get your orig NSO marriage certificate. So dapat po be ready na ibigay sa kanila. Buti na lang 3 copies ang nirequest ko sa NSO kaya may 2 pa ako.

Nga pala, the guy from DFA Galleria texted me kanina lang. Natakot yata sa akin kasi medyo 'nagtaray' na ako last Wednesday. Wala pa rin daw ang passport ko. Yun ang nakakapiss off, di nila masagot kung kelan lalabas. Ang nakalagay lang daw sa computer nila, "on process." And to think express pa ang pinagawa ko ha. Ang sabi niya iko-contact daw niya ang production site at irerequest na irelease. Grabe, ang gulo ng system nila ha. Naglagay sila ng date na November 21 ang release pag express tapos hindi naman pala nila susundin. Parang pinaglalaruan nila ang mga tao. Pasensya na mga sis at umiinit lang talaga ulo ko pag naaalala ko.

awww sana makuha mo na passport mo sis, para san pa at nagbayad ka ng expedite tapos super delayed din, eh di sana regular nalang binayad mo. dapat pwede refund ang money mo.

i pray na talaga na exact date makuha ang passport ni BF or else rebook or new flight ang gagawin niya =(

I haven't back read this thread yet. But I just want to share this.

Working sa government as regular employee and your immediate family members - Pwede kayong kumuha/renew ng passport  through courtesy lane. No need for scheduling. Just bring all your requirements and syempre present dapat yung nagwowork sa government with his government ID and GSIS ID if member. Cut-off time is 8am-12pm, M-F, DFA Main Office only.

Nag-inquire kasi ako today. Need to renew and also get one for my daughter. Since nagwowork si hubby sa government, might as well use his benefits.

When I applied for my son's passport (3 yrs old pa lang sya), hindi nako gumawa ng separate form or letter.   Naguluhan din ako sa requirement na yun kasi parang main requirement sya for new passport application - minor.  Ang inisip ko na lang, kelangan ang form na yun if a child will travel with other persons (not the parents).  I hope I remember correctly, na sa mismong application form, there is a section there about this, then sign ka lang sa portion na un. I assumed yun na ang support and consent to travel (from mother).

sis tabbru, hassle naman ang nangyari sa yo and I understand kung bakit ka naiinis lalo na express pala ang binayaran mo. When I claimed my passport last September at DFA Megamall, I was surprised na ang daming tao sa claiming area.  I could also see that some people were getting restless.  Then the DFA attendant announced that unfortunately some passports were not printed......   I heard two people na 2nd time na nila pumunta dun because the first time, hindi pa ready yung passport nila. And may iba rin na may flight/ticket na pero wala pa rin ang passport nila.  I'm one of the lucky ones there na nakuha ang passport after one hour of waiting.  Regular processing lang binayaran ko.  I retained my maiden name but changed my status from single to married.  Hindi ko alam if factor eto kung bakit nakuha ko ang passport on time since hindi naman nagbago ang details sa passport.

mga sis, how many months in advance pwede magparenew ng passport before the expiration date? yung akin kasi mag-eexpire ng july 2013, gusto ko na siya iparenew kasi mag-aapply ako ng student visa sa canada early next year. tumatawag naman ako sa hotline ng dfa, wala sumasagot, as in everyday at iba-ibang oras. lagi lang sinasabi may mga kausap pa raw, napakaimposible naman non.

^Sis, pwede mo na yan iparenew ngayon para hindi ka kapusin sa time.Mabagal ang DFA. Kasi by January, parang 6 months left na lang. Dapat daw kasi, 6 months before ang expiration ay nakapagrenew na.

Hi mga Sis ! Pa inquire naman po if i can still use my passport, if i have a travel to Macau on Jan. 26 -29, 2013.  My passport will expire on July 28 , 2013. If I will compute it is technically  2 days ahead before the six months renewal requirement.   Can I still use it for my Jan travel? I ve tried calling DFA to inquire  but im having a hard time contacting the hotline.  I am thinking sana to delay my renewal and just use  my present passport dahil di ako  maka absent sa dami ng work.  Thanks in advanz to those who will answer my inquiry. Mejo natatakot din kasi ako baka mag ka aberya ang travel ko. Thanks agen sana may maka answer para ma appease na rin ako..

^you can still use your passport. My hubby's passport is expiring in April and we will be leaving for Hongkong next month. My experience for short travels within Asia you can still use your passport with at least three months validity.

@sis mama squeak, true ba yan sis? kasi we have a trip this coming dec 5 and may BF's passport will expire on May 2013, we're going to SG, nagparenew kami pero di pa binutasan ang old passport niya kasi expected na makuha ang passport ay sa dec 4 pero syempre may doubts pa din kami if on time ang release =(

anyways, meron ba kayo pinirmahan before na agreement with the airlines or something?
kasi sabi ng sister in law ko na ex-immigration officer, if less than 6 months ang passport validity, may option daw minsan ang airlines na papirmahin ka ng waiver if ever di ka tanggapin ng receiving country which is worth 50K, ikaw amg shoulder

^sis baka for long haul trips yung pinapirmahan sila ng waiver which sometimes happens but discrepancy na rin ng airline yun. That's why I mentioned within Asia you can still fly if your passport is within 3 months validity nothing less. Both airline and immigrations will still let you leave as long as you have complete documents i.e. round trip confirmed tickets, hotel confirmation or if staying with friends or relatives letter of support, etc. I've worked in the airline industry for more than two decades, by the way.

^wow thanks sis! big relief in case hindi marelease ang passport ni BF on time. Buti di pa namin pinacancel yung old passport niya! may pag-asa pa pala siya makasama sa SG. nag-iisip na kasi kami ng contingency plan kung ma-late ang passport niya

Share ko lang recent experience ko with DFA-Megamall; which is pretty okay naman.
Online appointment ako ng 10:30 am on a Tuesday, pero di ba sabi sa website kelangan nandun na 30 minutes before. Kaso pagdating ko around 9:45 am hindi pa nag-oopen yung elevator sa Mega-C tapos medyo may pila na; kase nakapila din yung mga nag-pa-appointment ng 10:00am.

Anyway, around 10:00 nag-start na gumalaw ang pila sa elevator. hehe, then pila ulet sa taas pag pasok ng entrance and for checking ng forms and docs.

Renewal lang ako and mag-e-expire na ang passport ko on April 2013 tsaka kelangan ko din mag-change surname dahil sa visa; wala naman akong naging problem sa mga docs na dinala ko. Copy ng Voter's ID, copy ng info at emergency page ng old passport, certified true copy of marriage certificate authenticated by NSO (since kakakasal ko lang last Oct. 20) ang kinuha sa mga docs na dala ko. Then, pinagbayad na ako for rush processing (7days). Less than 1 hour 'yung in-stay ko sa loob.

Then, come pick-up time last week, Mama ko na lang pinakuha ko. Binigyan ko lang sya ng authorization letter na naka-attached yung receipt at pinadala ko sa kanya old passport ko at voter's id. Nakuha din naman nya according sa date na naka-specify sa receipt, kaya for that thumbs up ako sa service nila.
