sis depende sa bata, yung anak ko hindi rin. pero io-authorize ka ng doc to drink ng paracetamol si baby after ng shot, tapos kung lagnatin saka ipapatuloy ng inom ng gamot. may iba kasi na hindi naman nagtutuloy yung lagnat eh.

Dosing for flu vaccine is as follows:
6 months to 35 months: 0.25 cc
3 years old and above: 0.5 cc

So yes, same lang ang dose for 3 year old kids and adult patients.
For patients below 9 years of age receiving the flu vaccine for the first time, 2 doses are required, given at least 1 month apart.

Thanks doc Lelet. Yung first shot will be given this week. Ok lang naman po yung kahit kaka MMR and Varicella vaccine lang niya last March 11? And yung isang flu vaccine po will come from our company. Since mahirap yung oras, plan ko sana na kunin nalang yung vaccine and papa administer ko nalang sa Pedia niya? Ano po yung mga kailangan gawin para mai travel yung vaccine ng maayos? Thanks po!

doc let,delayed na po ba [textspeak!] son ko sa MMR he is already 20 months old? kasi dapat nung november pa binigay kya lang madalas magkasakit tapos maraming nangyayri hindi na namin sya nadala ulit for vaccine,,tapos lumipat kami tirahan ngaun maghahanap ulit kami new pedia balak namin sa saturday na wala pa po syang booster shots,,pwede paba kami humabol? sa mga shots?natatakot po ako maging mangyari sa baby ko pag hindi mabigyan ng vaccines. need your advise po..TIA

Pwedeng pwede pa humabol sa mga vaccines ang anak mo. There is no deadline to giving the MMR or the booster vaccines. Sa rotavirus vaccines lang may deadline sa pagbigay ng 1st and 3rd dose.

MMR and varicella vaccines are both live vaccines so dapat may 4 week interval sa susunod na vaccine. Thus, for me, hindi pa dapat ibigay ang flu vaccine this week. Ask na lang your pedia if it is ok with her to give the flu vaccine this week since she may have a different opinion.
As to transporting the vaccine, it has to be placed in a cold storage bag, but not sa freezer as freezing the vaccine may destroy the contents.

Last dose should be given before 8 months and 0 days.

Rotateq is a pentavalent vaccine (contains 5 strains) while Rotarix is a monovalent vaccine. There should be no interchanging of brands during the vaccination series. If, however, there was interchanging, it is recommended that the child be given 3 doses.
So if for example, the child receives rotarix vaccine as 1st dose and then rotateq was given for the 2nd dose, then the child should receive rotateq as a 3rd dose. This is according the ACIP recommendations.

Assuming that the child has received all the recommended vaccines before 9 to 11 years of age, then at that age group, the child should receive their annual flu vaccination and at 11 years of age, receive a booster dose for Dtap.
Also, cervical cancer vaccine may be given starting at 9 to 10 years of age.

Are you asking about the 1st booster of DaPT, polio and Hib? If yes, booster dose for hepatitis B is not required unless:
a. the child received the 3rd dose of the hepatitis B vaccine prior to 6 months of age
b. child of hepatitis B positive mother

So technically, 5 in vaccine pwede na instead of the 6 in 1 vaccine.

Hi Doc Lelet. Yung flu vaccine po kasi was given as a company benefit sa company ng husband ko. Pero sa Grepa sa RCBC naman siya so may doctor muna na mag interview sayo befoe the shot. I asked her kung ok lang since 2 weeks ago yung MMR and varicella vaccine and she said ok naman daw. Thanks doc Lelet. =)

At what age was the 3rd dose of Hepatitis B given? If the 3rd dose was given 6 months after the 1st dose and you are not hepatitis B positive, then no need to give a hepatitis B booster so as I mentioned in my previous post, the infant can just be given a 5 in 1 booster (DaPT, polio and Hib) instead of a 6 in 1 booster.
Three doses lang ang required sa hepatitis B as long as nafollow ang age recommendations sa pagbigay nito. If your pedia prefers to give the 6 in 1 vaccine instead of the 5 in 1 vaccine as booster, no harm in doing so naman...

Mumps vaccine is included as part of the MMR vaccine. If hindi pa nabigyan ng MMR vaccine ang son mo, then there is a need for him to be given 2 doses at least 3 months apart.
